Archives Ministries, NC Conference - IPHC Archives & Research Ministry - Keeping HIStory

A ministry arm of the North Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The Archives Department is a ministry of the North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and is dedicated to the purpose of collecting and preserving any and all documents pertaining to the history of the North Carolina Conference and it's ministers and lay people. It also serves to assist churches and scholars who wish to research the history of particular churches, events or peo

ple associated with it. We are dedicated towards keeping and sharing the story of God at work among us, realizing that we have now become part of His narrative.

Today, NCIPHC Archives celebrates the 105th birthday of one of our most impactful Conference Superintendents, Rev. J. Doner Lee. Born this day, Oct. 2, 1920, he would succeed W. Eddie Morris to the superintendency on Nov. 1, 1965, and serve until his retirement on June 12, 1986. Although born in Georgia, where his parents moved for a short while, they returned to Falcon while he was still an infant. He was a man of Falcon. He was no stranger there as his family was heavily involved in the Falcon Camp Meeting and all aspects of the NC Conference. He pastored 3 churches - Thunderswamp, Emmanuel (Raleigh) and Gospel Tabernacle in Dunn, NC. In his final report as Superintendent to the NC Conference, he reported, humbly, that in his 21 year tenue, the conference grew from 9,000 to almost 18,000 members! NCIPHC Archives will be releasing more information this month to celebrate (and inspire!) the life and legacy of J. Donor Lee. An interview of his two sons is forthcoming as well as other pictures and information. Please, share below if you have any memories of J. Doner Lee. We stand on the shoulders today of these great men! To God be the glory!
