Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that God is moving in a mighty way in your life. I want to bring you to a thought as it seems that the enemy seeks to divide the church with the way we approach even the body.
For example, we often call churches such as the "free" church and the "persecuted" church. Yet, when we examine the teaching of the NT, we read that we are one body (1 Cor 12) and Jesus said he would build his church vs his churches (Matt 16:18). Think of this. When I hurt my thumb or any part of my body, I do not refer to it as the other body of myself. When I get hurt, even though the rest of my body may not be suffering directly, I still suffer.
Just because part of the body of Christ is not in direct persecution does not mean, they do not suffer. Directly, they may not suffer but the effects of those suffering does affect the church.
When I am hurt physically, the healthy parts of my body, strive and tend to the parts that are hurting. Internally, the blood tends to that area sending white and red blood cells, platelets.... Nerves let me know that an area needs attending to and when I hit that area, it reminds me that I am hurting.
In America, we have begun to see the rise of inflation and are feeling our purses tighten as we wonder how we will pay this or that bill. I know in several countries, the inflation is so high that those who have nothing, that begging is increasingly difficult as those few who have jobs, are barely making ends meet themselves.
In America, we still are holding on and have plenty to eat and many of us sleep in shelter of some kind with appropriate clothing. Many of us are not directly feeling the fear of wondering if we will have a meal or if our electric will be on.
I am asking the brothers and sisters who are able to be as generous as the widow Jesus observed who gave all she had (Lk 21:1-4). The point is when everyone is a generous giver we demonstrate we trust God to supply our needs. We also recognize that we are stewards of what God owns. We are only fooling ourselves when we think all that we amass is ours. After all when we die we will not be taking one dime with us. Fact, Moses asked the people to give to the tabernacle fund (loosely explaining) and because of Israel's generosity, Moses had to ask them to stop giving (Exo 36:6-7)! I am sure churches rarely say that. When the church first came together, Acts records that no one lacked as everyone was generous in their giving.
It will never be the governments or laws that will make the changes, it is the believers who believe God will keep his promises to provide, when the church is about His business.
Myanmar has been hit with high inflation and many continue to lose their jobs. They do not have welfare or government support to help out the needy. They rely on others to help them. Let us be generous and support our brothers and sisters in need. Not just in prayer but financially.
Blessings to you all.
