Built Together God’s Design For His Church
Pastor MK Holt
Ephesians 2:19-22

We the saints are built different. We have a new identity in Christ. You are not a stranger nor a foreigner to God when you are in Christ. Do you know where you belong. We are no longer orphans but children in the family in Jesus our Lord. There are going to be trials that we face. Every day there is a challenge. We got to hear from God to understand what people are going through. Some of us go into our flesh which doesn’t present the fullness of the gospel. Our identity in Christ should produce a change in our identity and that should be reflected in our lives. There are some things in you that you need to allow the Lord to access in you.

1. A New Citizenship/Identity

We belong to Jesus and no one can stop what God has prepared for us. One thing we need to do is to reflect on the things that we are in the flesh and allow God to make the transformation He wants to make in you. We fight sometimes our people who we are in community with. We are fellow citizens with each other and brings us together to show the world the strength we have in community with each other. You belong to Christ and He is our strength in the Lord.

2. A New Community

We belong to the household of God and with that comes protection from sin and to the adversary that walks around in defeat and tries to attack us from every side. We should be walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

3. A New Connection

We are connected to God through our Lord Jesus Christ and we are in His family. Live in the confidence of your identity in Christ.

Pt. 2

A New Foundation

Do you have the right foundation? Some of us are standing on foundations that are not stable. A stable foundation can withstand the storms and the tribulations that come with life. Your security is in Christ and your faith is built on Him and His foundation in Jesus who will give you stability through eternity. You don’t stand on your own strength, it is the Lord’s strength that we put our faith and trust in. His foundation doesn’t shift, it is always stable!!

1. The Foundation is Built on Scripture

You got to have scripture in you and with you so you cannot be tossed to and fro by deceitful doctrines that will deceive you.

2. The Foundation is Built Secure

The foundation must be aligned properly because if the cornerstone of the foundation is out of alignment you must be built upon a cornerstone that is in perfect alignment with God the Father. There is sacrifice that must be offered to Him to be in alignment with the Father. Obedience is the key to alignment with the Father and the Son.

3. The Foundation Has to be Steadfast

The promises of men will not last. The world will fall away. The foundation of Jesus Christ will never fade away. The foundation of the Lord is the only way. When someone or something comes against your faith how do you respond?

Pt. 3

Our Spiritual Growth

We have been built different when we have had an encounter with Christ and the Holy Spirit. The process is lifelong, on going as we learn to embrace the new ways and concepts that comes from God Himself. He has come to bring unity between those who were enemies of God and of Christ. Spiritual growth occurs when you decide to spend time with God and He welcomes you to fellowship with Him. What is preventing you from spending time with God??

1. Establish Yourself On The Solid Foundation

You cannot build a strong life on a strong foundation. The foundation is Christ who is the Chief Cornerstone. He is the source of our ability to function with purpose and with your destiny.

2. Be Connected To The Body

You have e to get connected to the body, the body of Christ. Your fulfillment comes in Christ and it is impossible for you to be fulfilled without a relationship with Him.

3. Transformed To A Dwelling Place For God

The preparation for this transformation is in Jesus Christ and His grace that has been established thru His blood. You have to be submitted to Him and the source of His power which is the Holy Spirit. You need to be connected to the right source, you need to know and recognize who you are connected to? We should be a dwelling place for Him to execute His plan through you so He can get the glory thru you!!

Pt. 4

1. We Are A Dwelling/Divine Place For God

It is the Lord that sustains us all. It is only by His grace that we are here on this earth. Even when we weren’t ready for His assignment He still pursued us to bring us into the family. We are a part of His family regardless of our mistakes we’ve done in His presence. The Lord still loves us to the point that He will bring us out of our misery because He died for ALL of our sins. He protects us thru our mess to use us as a dwelling place for Him!! God wants to do a work thru us all we must allow Him to dwell within us so we can express our devotion to Him!! We will tell your friends about a great restaurant, your wonderful vacation, how awesome your new can is but you cannot tell people about how good the Lord has been to you!!! It is the Lord that sustains us all!!!

With God all things are possible……..
Without Him we are nothing……

Your Gifts, Talents and Opportunities Are Not By Accident……

2 Chronicles 32:1-3,6-8,21
Your Battle Is No Match For God

Have you ever been in a conflict/battle where you know that if the Lord doesn’t step in it will not happen……

1. Prepare For The Battle (v 1-3)

The first thing we need to do is to know that you must prepare for the battle/battles in your life. Preparation for what you are going to face must be studied and prepared for. God cannot use what you don’t prepare for, allow the Word of God to pe*****te your heart. How do you prepare for the battle? Gather your brothers and sisters and come together to pray and to cry out to the Lord. The arm of the flesh that Satan uses is just a tactic to get you out of alignment with You and your power. You have never lost a battle!!

2. Allow the Word of God to Strengthen Your Faith (v 6-8)

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. The word of God will strengthen you through your battles. Your flesh has limitations but the Word of God cannot fail. What is your flesh issue that you need the Word of God to overcome?? Allow the Lord and the Word of God to overtake you and your enemies through the power of the Holy Spirit!! The enemy will try to speak to your flesh but greater is He that is in you that is in the world!!

3. Cry Out To God In Prayer (v 16-21)

Pray to God and don’t stop crying out to Him. Partner with someone who agrees and has a strong faith like you. Prayer is one aspect of your petition by crying out to Him is a deeper understanding and level of trust of Him and to your relationship with Him. God will step in when you cry out to Him and your battle with be fought for you by Him!!

Isaiah 41:10
I Am With You

When you know that you have someone with you gives you strength like no other. God gives us a promise that He is with you and I haven’t abandoned you. When God is with you fear loses its authority.

1. His Presence Calms Us

No matter what the situations or circumstances going on around you, I am with you. God doesn’t necessarily remove the threat, He will stand with you and will walk with you right through the pain and suffering you might be dealing with. Your adversary will try to bombard your mind with thoughts that make you feel inadequate or anxious but God is saying that despite the fear and feelings, God is with you!!! When He is with you His peace is accessible to you immediately.

2. His Power Covers Us

When you are broken in spirit or are afraid, Gods strength will be there for you if you are willing to submit to Him. Call on His name. His power compensates for your deficiencies. We do not know when we will be called home but God doesn’t want us to live in fear of our departure, His power covers us and has conquered the last enemy in front of us, death. He wants you to know that you need to live in victory and not in defeat.

3. His Promise Carries Us

His help will be there for us. You can trust Him at His Word. He is with us everywhere you go. He will strengthen us, that’s a promise from Him and he is faithful and just, He cannot break His promises…..Hallelujah!!

John 11:1-4
When Love Meets Pain

If God loves us, why does pain still comes to us? Mary and Martha were in some serious pain when their brother Lazarus became sick and eventually he died. Sometimes we ask the question why me? Why do we have to go through this pain. We sometimes feel like God isn’t listening to us and God isn’t moving. God has to show us His power through the pain we’re facing in our lives. God never takes something from us without giving us something back. To live is Christ and to die is gain. Jesus delayed His coming so He could teach us about being prepared for a greater revelation in Him.

We all have an appointment with Him and we can’t be prepared if we don’t have your assignment in the focus of our lives.

1. When Love Delays Keep Going

God wants to give you the blessing but He wants to see how you are going to respond to the delay. It is preparing and is preparation for you to move in His direction. Temporary pain produces greater healing.

2. Love That Weeps Overtakes You

Jesus wept when He saw Lazarus and He wants you to know that He can identify with our pain and He has overcome the fear and the pain.

3. Love That Delivers

The love of God never leaves us. No matter where you are He is there. Jesus said to Lazarus, come forth and Lazarus came out of the grave and He was resurrected. When Jesus speaks dead things come alive!! There is nothing that God can bring back alive!!! Hallelujah!! Salvation and Glory to our Lord Jesus!!!

Psalm 125:1-2
I’m Rooted But Not Shaken

Storms don’t ask for permission. Trials don’t announce themselves. Tribulations don’t say to hello I’m coming. Opposition is all around us but God is with us and He is always with us and surrounding us even when we are in the midst of our struggles. God likens us like Mt Zion, we cannot be moved if we trust in Him. When we straddle the fence and are solely focused on Him we are vulnerable to the attacks from our enemy. What is your blind spot that allows the enemy to attack you.

1. A Routed Confidence In Jesus

Trusting in God doesn’t make you vulnerable to the enemy it makes you unmovable to the storms and winds that want to destroy you and your mission. We can’t lean to our understanding we must lean on His wisdom and understanding. Say connected to God in a meaningful way and you will never fold. God is my strength and He is my redeemer. He is my healer and He is my friend!! Who are you in relationship with?? Stay rooted in God.

2. Have A Surrounding Covering

Israel was surrounded my mountains and they helped keep them safe from the enemies that wanted to destroy them. God surrounds us and protects us from our enemies. Even when we get a call or message that is disturbing God is there with you and He is the one who can protect you and bring you out of the darkness and into the light. He wants you to remember where you was and to witness to others, to testify to someone else who might be going through something or maybe the same thing you going through right now!! Testify of the goodness of the Lord.

3. A Relentless Commitment

So the Lord surrounds His people now AND forever. He wants you to believe in Him and to understand that He is the one who is the overcomer and your fight to freedom is rooted in the Lord…..The pain that you are experiencing is real but the Lord is able to deliver us from ANYTHING that we face in life. He has said that He is willing and able to bring us out of everything forever!!! When your feelings tell you that it is more than you can handle He hasn’t moved and He will never leave you or forsake you!! Stay rooted in God and His Son the Lord Jesus!!!
