Hello all. Mt Zion has some homemade goodies that will not keep till our future date. So...we'll be at the church at Noon tomorrow for 1 hour. We have Milk chocolate fudge with walnuts, peanutbutter fudge, apple, cherry and blackberry mini pies, homemade white dinner rolls.

Today, the Bell at Mt. Zion is back in service. Thanks to Mike Devault and fabricator Lindsay Lemley at American Fence for the donated steel, and donated time of construction (and what a piece of art it is). Thanks also to the donors who helped make this possible. Special thanks to our church members who were on scene on a rotatating basis just when a hand or a set of eyes were needed: Rose Marie Henderson, Shirley Swearingen, Glenna Martin Porter, Dale Porter, Sharon Swearingen Bowman and last, but not least, Miss Elizabeth Melton-painter and supervisor extraordinaire. This was definitely a labor of love!

In the interest of safety, we've decided to cancel our hot chocolate station at the Fairmont Christmas Parade this year. While the travel conditions aren't super bad right now, things can go downhill rapidly. It's best to not get in Mother Nature's way. No word about the parade being canceled at this point, but things don't look promising. Everyone be safe and have a Merry Christmas!

Mt. Zion will be operating their annual hot chocolate giveaway station during the Fairmont Christmas Parade this Saturday, December 13th. There is a small difference this year- since the Parade route has changed due to construction disruption in town and is only running on West Side up Fairmont Avenue from 4th Street to 12th Street, we can't set up at Carpenter and Ford Funeral home as we've done in the past. This year, we will be in the parking lot of Gwynn Tire on Fairmont Avenue. Many thanks to Charlie DeVault and the Gwynn Tire family for allowing us to have a nice place to do this traditional giveaway not only of free hot chocolate, but also gloves, hats, and scarves to those who need them. Hopefully we'll see you there.
