Apostles Eastern Shore Our Vision at Church of the Apostles is to see lives restored and the Bay area renewed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The roots of Apostles reflect the most ancient of church traditions: small gatherings of like-minded believers spreading the Good News. Founding Pastor Robert Seawell moved his family to the Eastern Shore in 1999 – called to plant a new church. Over the next year a handful of families met in homes and then in storefronts for weekly worship. In 2007, Apostles was gifted 7 acres of undeveloped, forested property. Reclaimed wood from damaged or abandoned buildings was refurbished, as were doors, windows and panels of old heart pine. The restoration of this property serves as a visible sign for the ongoing work of gospel renewal and transformation in the lives of people.

Our own Darby Callicutt, a social worker at Magnolia School, is reaching out to help kids with food insecurity. We want to bless kids with snacks so they have energy all through the school day. On Sunday, October 25, we will have a snack collection. Please bring prepackaged nonperishable snacks such as individual bags of chips, goldfish, fruit snacks, Slim Jim, Lil Debbies, etc. that day to bless Magnolia School! We are hoping to make this is a monthly project during the school year.

Middle School Youth (5th-8th grade)
Wednesdays Together: Middle School Youth meet will meet tonight, Oct 21st, at COTA from 6-8pm for dinner, worship, & games!

High School Youth (9th-12th grade)
Coffee with Mrs. Kelly: High School Youth and guests are invited for morning fellowship and coffee tomorrow October 22nd from 6:45-7:30am at Soul Caffeine in Daphne.

Sunday Night Live: High School Youth will meet on Oct 25th at COTA from 6-8pm.

Dynamos Retreat: Dynamos is a retreat for high school students, led by other high school students with the support of adult leaders and clergy. Through teaching, prayer, friendship, and community, students have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ and go confidently into the world as his disciples. The retreat will be held November 6–8 at Advent Christian Village near Live Oak, FL. Parents must register students, and transportation will be provided. Participants should plan to miss an afternoon of school on Friday, November 6. Deadline to register is Oct 22.

Essential Conversations for Parents: Parents of teen and pr***ens meet tonight, October 21st at COTA from 6-8pm during our Middle School Youth gathering. This month’s topic is “Doing For vs. Doing With”.  We’ll talk about the parenting transition from leader to guide and the balancing act it can be as they transition from pr***en to teen to young adult!

Rev. Matt Riley joins us this Sunday, October 18 as our missions guest. Matt and Katie Riley have served with Alongside Ministries in France for the past 9 years as church planters. They are planting a church in Pontivy, FR, in the Brittany region. Their work in Pontivy is focused on planting churches, training leaders and equipping these leaders to carry on the work of church planting and disciple making.

We are creating a new printed church directory as a meaningful tool for prayer. Fr. Gabe and our clergy continually strive to be intentional about praying for the people of our church, and we hope this directory will also encourage us all to pray for one another by name. If your family would like to be included, a photographer will be on site after the 10:00am service this Sunday Oct 18th as well as the 25th to take photos. There will also be an opportunity to update your current information. We hope you’ll consider being part of this special project.

High School Youth (9th-12th grade)
Coffee with Mrs. Kelly: High School Youth and guests are invited for morning fellowship and coffee on Thursday October 15th from 6:45-7:30am at Soul Caffeine in Daphne.

Sunday Night Live: High School Youth will meet on Oct 18th. Seniors will gather at the Seawells’ for Senior Sunday Supper 6-7:30pm. Our 9th-11th graders will meet at COTA from 6-8pm.

As we prepare for the impending weather, we want to keep our church family informed and connected.

As of right now, Sunday services are still happening as scheduled. Please keep an eye on our social media and emails for updates in case conditions require any changes.

If you or someone you know needs help with shelter or other storm-related needs, please contact Fr. Gabe at [email protected]. We want to care for one another and help however we can.

This fall, we are creating a new printed church directory as a meaningful tool for prayer. Fr.
