Our Vision at Church of the Apostles is to see lives restored and the Bay area renewed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The roots of Apostles reflect the most ancient of church traditions: small gatherings of like-minded believers spreading the Good News. Founding Pastor Robert Seawell moved his family to the Eastern Shore in 1999 – called to plant a new church. Over the next year a handful of families met in homes and then in storefronts for weekly worship. In 2007, Apostles was gifted 7 acres of undeveloped, fore

sted property. Reclaimed wood from damaged or abandoned buildings was refurbished, as were doors, windows and panels of old heart pine. The restoration of this property serves as a visible sign for the ongoing work of gospel renewal and transformation in the lives of people.

We set aside the second Thursday of every month to pray, collectively and intentionally as a community, for our church, our neighborhoods, and our world.

Where: Wherever is best for you! At home, on a walk, in your car or at church.
When: This Thursday, Sept 10 | You can sign up for 30-60 minutes from 6:00am till 6:00pm.
How: You could use the Book of Common Prayer, read or pray the Scriptures, or create your own prayers.

As followers of Jesus and as people called a holy priesthood, prayer is a key way we are invited to participate with God in the healing and renewal of God’s world.

New to COTA? We invite you to join us in the COTA library following the 10AM service this Sunday, Sept 6th, for a brief, informal gathering to meet members of the clergy, ask questions, and get to know COTA! We will have this gathering on the first Sunday of every month.

High School Youth (9th-12th grade) meets this weekend for Sunday Night Live, August 30th from 6-8pm in the Commons! We’ll gather for dinner, worship, games, Bible study, and small groups. Our study is focused on the Letters of Paul, following the church lectionary through parts of Romans, Phillipians, and Thessalonians. See you Sunday!

Beginning September 9th, we will be hosting a missions discussion group based on the book Re-Imagining Short Term Missions. This will take place at 6pm on Wednesdays, Sept. 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th at Cloud Mountain Coffee. Stephanie Robinson with Konbit Haiti, and a contributing author in the book, will be with us to lead discussion on missions, short term trips, and building a missions culture in our church. Middle School Youth (5th-8th grade) meets this week for Wednesdays Together on 8/26! We’ll get together for dinner, worship, games and learning from 6-8 pm in the Commons at COTA.
Our fall curriculum is the Alpha Youth Series. This course is designed to give young people space to explore their questions about life, faith, and
purpose. This is a great series to invite a friend to hear and see! Reach out to our Youth Directory Kelly Hughes for more info!

SIGN UP SOON: Join us Sept 18th & 19th for a diocesan evangelism conference designed to equip and encourage believers to share the gospel with confidence and clarity. Rooted in the Great Commission, this five-session experience will explore several areas: the importance of evangelism, relational witness, practical ways to share the gospel, apologetics, and encouragement in telling your personal story of faith. Led by a team of clergy and lay leaders, these gatherings will help you grow as a faithful witness in everyday life. We invite you to be part of this transformative initiative.
