There is going to be changes at Fairfield Assembly of God and so it will be up to the new pastor as to whether the postings will continue. So this will be the last thoughts of the week. My prayer for all of you is that you seek the Lord in all things.

***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
I am sure that you have heard the phrase that there is only two things that we must do and that is pay taxes and die. Well I would like to set you straight on that fact. If all you care about is the life you are living on this earth you are going to be in for a rude awakening. Yes, you will die, but you may not like where you are going. But if you have decided to follow Jesus while you are here on earth you will also follow Him to heaven. There is a key though that you need to remember. Life was not easy for Jesus when He was on earth and His followers can expect that same kind of treatment. So if you are serving the Lord and are mistreated for it then you actually will be able to look forward to the time when you will be able to be with Him in Glory in His Heavenly Kingdom. So be bold and take up your cross and follow Him now, here and into eternity.
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
Do you even realize what will be in store for you in heaven if you are serving the Lord here on earth? The riches that He has for you are totally beyond anything that you could possibly dream of. But that is not the reason to follow Him. It is because He died for you so you would not have to die but could be with Him forever. So what is stopping you from serving Him?

The thoughts for today are as follows:

***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
So are you one of the people that others can make do anything they want? Remember we live in a fallen world and there are a lot of people that are basically bullies. It does not matter how old you are, or where you are there is a really good chance that there is someone who is going to try to get you to do something that they want you to do. How hard do they have to work to get you to follow through with their plan? Or are you someone that people consider stubborn, (in a good way)? Someone that is focused on what is good and is trying hard to follow God's plan for their life. Paul was one of those that after he had an encounter on the road to Damascus changed. He was actually never easy to persuade and it took awhile to do so on that road, but from there he became one that tried to persuade people that he had changed and was on a different mission and it was hard for him to convince people but after awhile they were able to see the difference in his heart. Where is your heart? Can people make you do what they want or are you still on a mission to please the Lord?

***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
We have to remember that bullies come and go and are usually easy to be used by the evil one. But our heavenly Father will give us the strength that we need to be strong enough to not let them have the power to lead us the wrong way.

The thoughts for today are as follows:
***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
Have you ever thought about all the things that Jesus provides for you? I know people think about all the things that they want, like wealth and notoriety. But that was never the plan. Jesus has always thought on a different plain than humans. We think about the here and now and Jesus thinks about the hereafter. There is such a difference. What is here and now will not last, it will wither and die. Things in the hereafter will be forever. The things that truly matter to Jesus are the souls of the people that His Father created. That is right the thing that makes you who you are but you cannot see is what is important to Jesus. Your heart and soul are connected and they are what matters. We need to take time to reach people at their heart level for Jesus so that they are able to make that all important decision to follow Jesus here and now and then live with Him in the hereafter!
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN ******
When you think about abundance, what do you think about? Money, job, land, cars, jewelry and other stuff? When Jesus thinks about abundance He thinks about love, charity, and serving Him. We need to remember that to serve Him is an honor but that there is a price to be paid. The great thing is that if you believe in Him that price has already been paid.

Todays thoughts are as follows:

***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
What are you doing for God's Kingdom? He wants us to go into the world and share about Him. Look who has gone before us. There are so many in the Bible. Moses actually left His people so that He was able to hear God calling Him and then went back to bring them out of bo***ge. There were the disciples that were willing to give up their livelihood, no matter what it was to follow Jesus, even unto death. Paul thought he was doing God's work until a little encounter on the road to Damascus where he learned the truth which changed his life forever. People tried to kill him and he was placed in bo***ge but he never lost sight of the true freedom that he had because he was a follower of Christ Jesus our Lord. We need to remember that we were not promised that life would be full of riches and we would have no problems. If we ever doubt this we need to look at these examples along with Jesus and what was done for the kingdom's work. Was there a price? Yes, but the reward is much greater. The price is death of your mortal body and the reward is eternal life. So what is stopping us from sharing the Good News?
***** COLLEEN’S KITHCHEN *****
We get comfortable doing what we think is enough for the Kingdom. Remember complacency was a problem in a church we read about in Revelation. So is that somewhere we really want to be?

Today's thoughts are as follows:
***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
What kind of a world are we living in these days? It used to be that when you sent your children away to college, you felt that you were sending them to a place where they would be safe. So many days now we hear about horrible things that happen in elementary schools let alone colleges. So we send our young people to a place of higher learning where there are professors or other students with strange beliefs that they try to share with our youth and lead them astray. Well it is wonderful to know that there is a great ministry that is on our secular college campus' known as Chi Alpha. These young people minister to the college students that are on campus and give them a place where they can gather with like minds and worship the Lord. God is so good by calling young people to this great ministry so that as parents and grandparents we can feel a little better about sending our children to a college campus of higher learning and know that they can get the highest of learning there also, as they learn about the love for them by their creator.
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
God knows where we are going to be and so He prepares ahead of time what we are going to need when we get there. A little like the Chi Alpha ministry that awaits our youth when they go to college. Or even friends that you do not know yet. It is so great that He goes before us.

09/07/2014

Today the thoughts were about ministry. Take time and speak with the Lord and try to find out what His ministry is for you and then go after it.

***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
Today we have a Gideon coming to share what is going on in their ministry. This is a ministry that specializes in placing the word of God in the pathways of life. We need to remember that there are many hurting people in this world and many of them do not feel safe walking into the House of God, a church. So there needs to be other ways to reach the lost. I pray that you take time to pray for the lost and find a way that you can help reach them. It could be something small or something big. I know that the Lord has something for each and every one of you. When God talks to us we need to take time to listen to Him. We get so busy with the business of life that sometimes we forget the things that are the most important. That is the work of our Lord. Remember the great commission? That we all spread the word of the Lord to all the nations. What are you doing to complete that goal for Jesus our Lord?
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
A lot of people think that they have nothing that they can offer to help spreading the word of the Lord. It is time to maybe think outside of the box. I know I did, when God led me to write my book I never thought that I would be where I am today. God is in control of this book reaching the people who need to hear its message. Would this be considered spreading the word of God?

The thoughts for tody are below and we learn about the unity that God wants from us so that we can learn from Him and share with others.

***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
I want you to think about what the word unity means. 1. the state of being one; oneness. 2. a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one. 3. the state or fact of being united or combined... With that in mind I want you to think about God's plan when He created the earth and everything on it. Do you think He wanted everyone and everything to do whatever they wanted or maybe, just maybe He wanted everything to work together for good, and more specifically to do His will for the good of all creation. He wants everyone, which is right "all of the people" on the earth to be a part of His wonderful family. There is an open invitation for anyone who wants to belong. So then in eternity we can "all" live with Him in that special place that He has created. We will be treated like heirs to the kingdom, because we are. We are princes and princesses of the King. When we unite and become as one, we become strong. Remember, through His strength we can do all things.
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
So let us unite, for the Lord, and stand up for what is wrong in the world and be the children of the King that we were created to be!!!

The thoughts for today are as follows:
***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
Have you ever thought of what it means to be a clone? It means that the DNA and everything in your body is the same as what you were taken from. We have all been created in the image of the Lord our God, so does that mean that we are His clones? We have the example of Jesus to follow and be like. He showed us what God wants as far as children. So as obedient children would it not be wise to follow the example of Jesus and walk like that through our lives? We need to remember to look at people we meet through the eyes of Jesus and not our own human eyes. We see the bad stuff in other's lives, but we can't seem to see the bad in our own lives. That is why we need to try being Jesus with skin on, to the people we meet who are in need of the love of Jesus. So that people see the love of Jesus and not our humanness.
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
We have been given the Holy Spirit to live within us so that we would not have to do things in our own power. Think about what that means. You have a helper in all things God wants you to do. Reaching all of His children in the world so that they can come back to Him or come for the first time!

If you have not given your life to God as of yet please take some time today and ask Jesus into your heart so that you will have a companion to help you in every thing that you do.

08/10/2014

Today the thoughts for the daay talk about surrendering everything to God. I pray that you read and listen to what God is saying to your heart.
***** PASTOR JOE’S THOUGHT *****
There's that Ole Hymn, "I Surrender All” that truly speaks of what our lives need to be. Most will say, I don't want to give up control of my life - what fun will that be, when in reality you will enjoy more exciting and happier times. You will still make the choices, but God simply tells you the best ones to make. He knows you better than you know yourself. There will still be those bumps in the road of life, but there - is where you are to help you grow into the person God knows you can be. There will be more joy and peace in life’s work if you let God guide you, but there will still be an occasional sadness. That is just part of our walk of life. When you go "All" the way with the Lord, peace and joy, no sadness, no pain will be yours for eternity.
***** COLLEEN’S KITCHEN *****
What a great promise we have been given if we follow Jesus now. We are told that we will live forever in eternity with Him. There will be no pain or sorrow and there will be peace and joy. Yes while we are here on earth there will be pain and sorrow but the Holy Spirit will give us the peace to endure it. It sounds like there is one choice to be made first. Give it "All" to God and then you have a partner to help you in everything.
