💬 Ice Breaker Question: Do you tend to overthink things? How does it affect your life?
📖 Theme Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
📜 Story: In Luke 10:38-42, we read about Martha who was busy with preparations for Jesus’ visit, while her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to him. Martha became upset and asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her, but Jesus reminded her that Mary had chosen the better thing.

FREEDOM IS FOUND IN CHRIST!!
“It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].”

Devotional on what to do when hurt me those in the faith:

🌟 Finding Grace When the Wound Comes from Within”

❓ Reflection Question: How do I respond when hurt comes from those who are supposed to embody God’s love?

📖 Scripture:
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
— Matthew 5:11-12 (NIV)

🕊️ Story:
Jesus knew betrayal intimately. The Pharisees, religious leaders of His own faith, were among His fiercest accusers. Even His own disciple, Judas, betrayed Him for silver, and Peter denied knowing Him. Yet, Jesus’ response was unwavering love. On the cross, He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34). He understood that even the wounds inflicted by His own people could not outweigh His call to love.

Sometimes, the people we expect to show us the love of Christ can be the very ones who misunderstand or hurt us. When Christians fall short, it’s painful and can even make us question our faith. But in these moments, Jesus calls us to turn toward Him. He sees and understands this unique pain and offers us His strength to forgive and find peace.

✍️ Quote:
“We are never more like Jesus than when we forgive those who wound us, even if they are part of our faith community.”
— Corrie ten Boom

🛠️ Practical Application:

1. Lay Down Bitterness: Bring your pain to God. Talk openly about it with Him, asking for His healing and help to release any resentment.
2. Seek Counsel and Community: Find a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or counselor who can offer support and guide you through this time.
3. Pray for Those Who Hurt You: It’s one of the hardest steps, but praying for those who hurt you can open the door to greater healing and peace.

Life can get so hectic and so busy right ? It’s so easy to take family for granted and just get carried away and then before we know it, we blink and they are all grown up! Don’t waste the precious time you have giving it to a job that would post a job opening if you died. Your family needs you, your job doesn’t. We will all struggle with this, and I know I do a lot, but we will always have opportunities to get it back on track.

A great book! “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry” by John Mark Comer
“Our time is our life, and our attention is the doorway to our hearts.”
“To restate: love, joy, and peace are at the heart of all Jesus is trying to grow in the soil of your life. And all three are incompatible with hurry.”
“Here’s my point: the solution to an overbusy life is not more time. It’s to slow down and simplify our lives around what really matters.”
“Hurry is violence on the soul.”

A few quotes from the book:

He sees you, always.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
— Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV)

Imagine God looking at you, not with disappointment because of your flaws, but with profound joy. He doesn’t just tolerate your brokenness; He loves you in it. His love isn’t a reaction to your perfection; it’s a constant, active force that quiets your fears and sings over you with delight, precisely because you are His, broken and all.
