Our Lady of Assumption Syro Malabar Catholic Church, Norwalk CT Our Lady of Assumption Syro Malabar Catholic Mission Center, Norwalk had its humble beginnings as

“Snehalayam”, in 2007 under the leadership of Fr.

John Punnakunnel with masses being conducted monthly at

Holy Rosary Church in Bridgeport, CT. In 2010, Fr. Francis Nambiaparambil took the reins as our spiritual director, and soon moved our venue to a more

convenient and centralized location at St. Ladislaus Church in Norwalk, CT. We continued the tradition of having

monthly mass and festive celebrations. With the relocation of Fr. Francis

to Hartford parish in 2013, Fr. James Vattakunnel, VC, took charge as the Mission

Director and helped establish the mission we have today. In 2014, at a general meeting of all families involved with the mass and activities of the Syro Malabar community in

and around Norwalk, CT, a decision was made to dedicate our mission to Mary, the mother of God, and chose the

name “Our Lady of Assumption Syro Malabar Catholic Mission, Norwalk, CT”. The mission center decided to have bimonthly mass and catechism classes on Catholic faith (CCD Classes). Over the

years, many families have moved away, but with each goodbye we also say hello to many new families. From

“Snehalayam” to “Our Lady of Assumption”, God has walked with us to guide us and help us overcome various

obstacles and face new challenges with a holy and joyful spirit. Following are the key elected representatives of the mission center as of date -

Dear Friends,

Our next Malayalam mass of the month of November will be held this Sunday - November 27th, 2016 at St. Ladislaus church, 25 Cliff St, Norwalk CT 06854 at 2:30PM( Please note the change in time).

After the Mass there will be Catechism/CCD class for the children. The class will start at 3:30 PM.(Please note the change in time).

Dear Friends,

This is a reminder regarding our "Perunnal" (പെരുന്നാൾ). The high mass in Malayalam will be held at St. Ladislaus Church (25 Cliff Street, Norwalk, CT) on 11th September, 2016.

As you know Anthony Kallingal, Gibi Gregory, Tijo Josh and Wilson Pottackal are the presidentis(പ്രെസിദെന്തി ) of the Perunnal (പെരുന്നാൾ)

We will start the celebration with the St. Mary's Novena at 3:15 PM followed by the Holy Mass at 3:30 PM. We will have procession after the mass around the church. After the procession, there will be an opportunity of "Adima Vaypu" (.അടിമവയ്പ് )

Our Perunnal will conclude with Cultural activities and Perunnal Dinner. We have few cultural programs as of now and if anyone else is interested to share their talents on stage, please contact Mia Pottackal ([email protected])
