We have been praying for Pastor Wheeler (the pastor of Jim and Kathy Schmitt's daughter Sarah and her family) as he fights cancer. Here is the most recent update. Please continue to pray for him as he continues with chemo.

Let the praise of God be what fills your heart and comes from your lips this morning...

Make a loud shout to God, all the earth;
Sing praise for the glory of His name;
Establish His praise as glorious.
Say to God, “How fearsome are Your works!
Because of the abundance of Your strength Your enemies will cower before You.
All the earth will worship You,
And will sing praises to You;
They will sing praises to Your name.” Selah. (Ps 66:1.4)

"There must be a hearty Amen to our praises as well as our prayers, that we may show zeal for God's glory, as well as affection to our profit. Your Allelujahs should sound as loud as your supplications; and not only say Amen when you come with prayers and requests, things you stand in need of, but Amen when you are praising God" (Manton, Works, 1.254).

Wisdom from Thomas Manton, when facing trial or temptation, "Ride out the storm upon gospel encouragements. This will bear us up, it is but a moment to eternity. It is but 'a light affliction and will work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,' (2 Cor 4:17)" (Works, 1.225).

Good afternoon all, the elders met today and we discussed plans for this weekend. Forecast models seem pretty conclusive at this point that we can expect anywhere from 8-12" of snow with sleet a strong possibility as well. In light of the forecasted storm headed our way, we have decided to cancel services for this Sunday. We will plan to have our fellowship dinner next Sunday, February 1 after worship.

At the same time, forecasts have been wrong before. So if Sunday rolls around and the forecast has changed, and no storm is coming, we could meet. But at this point, we will not plan to meet on Sunday. We will let you know via text if there are any changes and will post to our church page as well.

Thank you and God bless!

The New Year is just around the corner. If you don't have a plan to read God's word in 2026, check out our Bible reading plan from Valley Chapel. This year we are following the traditional ordering for both Old and New Testaments with both testaments overlapping. So each day has reading from the Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms and Proverbs.

"To the law and to the testimony!" (Isaiah 8:20).

This is the Bible reading plan for Valley Chapel in 2026.

There will be no Sunday School tomorrow, December 28. We will meet for worship at the regular time of 10:30 AM.
