Urban Hope Community Church

Several weeks ago, the men of Urban Hope Community Church gathered for a retreat centered on a specific and intentional theme: Fighting for Undistracted Time in a Digital Age.

Each man set his phone aside for the sake of communing with God and connecting with brothers in Christ. It was a rich time of fellowship, good food, meaningful conversation, and spiritual encouragement.

We believe that if men are to be godly leaders who love Christ, their families, and the church well, they must be sober-minded and attentive to what matters most. In a world filled with constant noise and distraction, we are seeking to confront what we believe is one of the enemy’s primary tools for keeping people spiritually disengaged.

Our prayer is that the men of our church would be marked by focus and a deep love for God and His people.

Urban Hope offers a variety of Hope Groups. These are small group gatherings where conversation can be more intentional, relationships grow closer, and godly growth happens.

One of our Hope group leaders, Sasha Foster, teaches ladies how to make fresh bread from scratch through the Bread of Life group.

Last night, Urban Hope Campus Ministry gathered our Student Leadership Team to discuss the importance of the local church.

In a generation that values individuality, our desire is for students at Miles College to understand that Jesus loves His Church and gave Himself up for her. The local church is where we experience true fellowship, sit under qualified elders who faithfully shepherd, and grow in heart and vision for Christ’s mission to a lost world. It is not optional for the believer.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.”

We’re thankful to walk alongside our married couples as they expand their families.

Our church family gathered to pray, encourage, and celebrate Derek & Maria and Jay & Nicole as they prepare to welcome little ones into the world!
