Hazel Louise Ballinger, age 88 of Ross, Ohio passed away on July 12, 2026 at Berkeley Square Retirement Community. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 11, 1937 the daughter of Ernest and Edna (Neanover) Root. She was a graduate of Camden High School. On October13, 1956 she married Roy Ballinger and together they had three children. Hazel was a member of the East River Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Juanita (Larry) Dearth Sr., Anita (Darrell) Varner and Mae (Chris) Dumford; beloved grandchildren, Larry (Angela) Dearth Jr., Lona (Daniel) Nunn, Amanda (James Young) Wilson, Rebekah (Justin) Elam, Rachel Ziegler, Tabatha Smith, and Alexandria (Mychal) Haynes; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild Samson Varner, her brother Ernest Root, and two sisters Mary Catherine Howard and Della Feix. A Graveside Service will be held at Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011 on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Samaritans Purse
