What we believe at First Baptist Church:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the final authority for what we believe and how we should live. There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God the Father created the universe and sustains all life. Jesus Christ, the Son, was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died on the cross bearing the sin of all h

umanity, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and intercedes as the only Mediator between God and humans. The Holy Spirit convinces the world of sin, regenerates the believer to new life and indwells all Christians. Humans by nature rebel against God, selfishly seeking their own way. Without faith, their ultimate destiny is eternal separation from God. But God, full of mercy and compassion, loves the world and desires for none to perish. The death of Jesus satisfies the requirements of God’s justice for our sin and provides the only way for mending our broken relationship with God. A Christian is one who admits his sin and places his faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. All sins are forgiven and the person is born anew in Christ. The church is the gathered community of believers with Jesus Christ as its head. Believers are baptized by immersion, symbolizing the death and burial of the old life and the resurrection of the new. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial to Christ’s death for us. The task of the church is to help people to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is alive and coming again in triumph at the fulfillment of time to establish his glorious kingdom. The righteous shall live and reign with Him forever.

Luke 24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus…5 the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen!
