Young Adults & Young Families Small Group at FPC!! We love our small group time together and will continue to have gathering opportunities over the summer. Best part of this group is knowing whatever season you’re walking in, there’s people who can relate. More info under “Small Groups” on our website.

The Lord’s Supper is a meal that makes connections. It connects us with each other, it connects us with Jesus, and it connects to the forgiveness of sin. Through eating bread and drinking the cup, the Lord’s Supper gives us freedom from anything that can hurt or destroy us. Come to FPC tonight at 7:30 pm, for Maundy Thursday worship and the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

Happy Tuesday! As we all are continuing to navigate daily life in the aftermath of an ice storm, everyone’s day-to-day looks different but for many of us it is stressful all the same. One of my favorite faith resources for when I’m holding a multitude of feelings is this blessing catalog from writer Kate Bowler. https://katebowler.com/free-blessings/

She beautifully composes short, holy, and honest blessings as an affirmation that wherever we find ourselves (shoveling the driveway, working while kids are home, anxiously watching the news, drinking tea, etc.) God is there, too.

This morning I read from her devotional “The Lives We Actually Have” a blessing that ministered to me and I’m sharing an excerpt below. I especially love the last line. Perhaps this blessing, or another one you find in her catalog, will minister to your heart this cold Tuesday too.

“Slow me down, God.
Place your hand upon me
and steady the racing of my heart.
Take this weight from my shoulders, and pry these to-dos from my fingers.
Deepen my breath and still my mind so that I can remember whose hands really do keep the stars hung in space.”

Please be in touch with the church office or myself (Emilee) for a listening ear, pastoral care need, solidarity and commiseration, or anything else. We are here. Stay warm and safe.

Blessings We love to bless the crap out of you. Below you’ll find blessings for garbage days, lovely days, grief-stricken days, and even (especially) completely ordinary days. These heartfelt words of prayer and hope are a chance to exhale when we feel everything from careworn to restless, devasta...
