Mother’s Day is a special reminder to honor the women who have prayed for us, loved us, corrected us, encouraged us, and stood beside us through every season of life. Mothers carry burdens nobody else sees, and so many times they do it quietly, faithfully, and without recognition. Today we thank God for our mothers, our grannies, our spiritual mothers, and all the ladies who have poured themselves into others with the love of Christ.
This afternoon some of our Jeremiah Tree guys, especially Joe Burkhardt, spent part of Mother’s Day setting a new mailbox post for one of God’s most treasured mothers, Sister Dana from the General Baptist House of Prayer. Sister Dana stays involved in just about every aspect of church life. She serves faithfully, works tirelessly, and somehow still finds enough energy to keep Brother Kenny in line and make sure his messes do not get too far out of control!
We all love Sister Dana dearly, and we were thrilled to be able to help her out in a small way today. Sometimes ministry looks like preaching sermons, and sometimes it looks like digging post holes and setting a mailbox for someone you love. Both matter.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there. Thank you for all you do.
