God was about to interrupt what looks like the end and declare something the world had never seen before. Not a slight of hand or trick of the eye but a resurrection, from the dead. When God steps in death does not get the final word. See the full message at:

Did you ever see someone and yet not see them? Some of the Pharisees in Jesus time saw him but did not recognize who he truly was and therefore they only saw what they chose to see. Are you just around Jesus or do you actually see him? Don’t just agree with Jesus. Don’t just sing about Jesus. Bow to him and see him as he truly is the humble king who came to save. The picture of Mary and Martha prior to the events of Jesus crucifixion shed light on the heart of two ladies, Mary and Martha, whose priorities were different but not ignored. Martha attended towards the social obligation and Mary opted for sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to his word. See the full message at:

Jesus canceled our record of debt publicly. And the charge against us was not merely forgiven in private, it was publicly canceled. Redemption was righteously accomplished by Jesus securing it with his blood. See the full message at: YouTube@FirstBaptistChurchFairOaks/TheCityGate&theSon.

Why do we suffer sometimes? And how do we do so anchored in the resurrection of hope? Since Jesus said in order to follow after him we must take up our cross and follow him daily can we stop acting so surprised when he reveals the cost. Ruth’s costly faith comes into play through redemption further down the line that will reveal itself in the life of a Savior. Jesus invites us to the table. He covers us with his righteousness. He redeemed what we lost and he refuses to let us go back empty. And the threshing floor becomes the shadow of the cross for us. See the message in its entirety at YouTube@FirstBaptistChurchFairOaks/TheMealAndTheThreshingFloor.

What is so devastating about a wrong perception of God is that we begin to see the testing of our faith through the lens of our human understanding. Where God is providing opportunity for us to grow in our faith we can become self-focused and perceive it as God picking on us. The one leads to restoration while the latter leads to resentment.

Why are we so surprised when we feel that we are being targeted by the enemy? What if that is our blessing rather than our destruction. Visit our Youtube page at :Youtube/FirstBaptistChurchFairOaks for a deeper dive into the book of Ruth in the old testament of the Bible.
