🎒📚 GENEROSITY IN ACTION: A WONDERFUL SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE! What a beautiful sight: bags and boxes filled with pencils, crayons, notebooks, folders, markers and so many other school essentials, all generously donated with care by our parish community! ❤️

Thanks to the tremendous response to the St. Leon Women’s Guild-sponsored School Supply Drive, an amazing collection of supplies was gathered for children and families served by the Franciscan Community Development Center in Fairview, NJ. Yesterday, these wonderful donations were delivered to the Center, ready to be put into the hands of those who need them.

We are so grateful to everyone who shopped, donated and helped fill our collection with such an abundance of supplies. Your generosity made this drive a tremendous success! A heartfelt THANK YOU to all who participated, and to our Women’s Guild for organizing this meaningful outreach effort. 🎒✏️📓🖍️❤️

⛪ FINDING FAITH IN THE STORMS OF LIFE: Guest Celebrant Rev. Fr. Kapriel Mouradjian 🙏 This past Sunday, our parish welcomed Rev. Fr. Kapriel Mouradjian as our guest celebrant, at the gracious invitation of our pastor, Rev. Fr. Diran Bohajian, during his absence.

In his homily, Fr. Kapriel reflected on the powerful Gospel of Mark account of Jesus and His disciples caught in a storm at sea. As the waves threatened their boat and fear overtook them, the disciples turned to Christ for help.

Fr. Kapriel reminded us how closely their experience can mirror our own lives. We strive to follow God's commandments, serve His Church and live faithfully, yet storms still arise. We face personal struggles, uncertainty and anxieties about what the future may bring. At times, we may even wonder why the storms do not simply go away.

But within the disciples' fear was something important: faith.

"It's a cry of faith, because even in their panic, they knew who to turn to. They turned to Christ," Fr. Kapriel shared.

The Gospel reminds us that Christ possesses divine authority even over the wind and the sea. Our faith does not promise a life without storms. Rather, it calls us to remember who is with us in the boat and to place our trust in Him, choosing active faith over fear when life's trials arise.

We thank Fr. Kapriel for celebrating the Badarak with our parish family and for sharing this meaningful and timely message with us.

🎾🏓 WE’RE ALMOST THERE! ONLY THREE SPOTS REMAIN! ARE YOU READY TO JOIN THE FUN? The 30th Annual St. Leon Armenian Church Golf & Tennis Outing is coming together beautifully and we’re looking for just a few more people to round out the fun!

🍇 Celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. ✝ Our St. Leon parish family came together in faith during Sunday service on August 16th to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, one of the five major feast days of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Our Pastor, Rev. Fr. Diran Bohajian, led us in worship for this sacred feast, followed by the beautiful and centuries-old tradition of the Blessing of the Grapes (Khaghogh Orhnek) and madagh.

We were also blessed to welcome Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian and Fr. Mesrob Aramian from Armenia, who joined Fr. Diran and our parish community for this special celebration.

The Blessing of the Grapes is a cherished Armenian tradition, offering the first fruits of the harvest to God in thanksgiving and reminding us that all of life’s blessings come from Him. 🍇

Through the intercession of the Holy Mother of God, may the Lord bless our St. Leon parish family, our loved ones, and our homes with faith, peace, health, and His abundant grace.
