Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself.
Luke 24:27

Pastor James Hayes presents this Scripture verse as follows:
In Genesis He is the Seed of the woman; in Exodus the Lamb for sinners slain; in Deuteronomy He is the Great Rock, in Ruth our Redeemer; in 1 Samuel He is seen as the Great Judge; in 2 Samuel He is the Princely King; in 2 Kings as the Holiest of all; in 1 Chronicles as the King by birth.
In 2 Chronicles as King by judgment; in Ezra He is seen as Lord of Heaven and Earth; in Nehemiah as the Builder; in Job our Risen Returning Redeemer.
In Psalms the Son of God and the Good Shepherd; in Proverbs our Wisdom; in Ecclesiastes as the On Above the Sun; in Isaiah He is the Suffering and Glorified Servant; in Jeremiah the Lord Our Righteousness; in Ezekiel the Glorious God.

Jesus, my Faithful Guide,
I delight in spending time with You---meditating on Your unfailing Love. For You are my God forever and ever. Please help me, through Your Spirit, to bring my mind back to You when-ever it wanders.
I find great encouragement in the words of Jacob: "Surely the Lord is in this place." No matter where I am, You are with me. I'm so grateful that You are my God forevermore---today, tomorrow, and throughout all eternity!
You are also my Guide. It's easy for me to be spooked by the future when I forget that You're leading me each step along my life-path. Yet Your guiding Presence has been available to me ever since I trusted You as my Savior. You've been training me to be increasingly aware of You as I go about my daily activities.
One way I'm learning to draw near You is by whispering Your Name. This reminds me that You are close beside me. Instead of worrying about anything, I can bring You my requests through prayer and petition with thanksgiving. How I rejoice in the wondrous assurance that You will be my Guide even to the end!
In Your Blessed, Eternal Name,

The "Abundance Quartet" will be here this Sunday May 31st at 10:00am. I sure hope that we will see to hear some great music from an Awesome Group. Then stay and join us for a potluck lunch...... We will have Ham and Turkey for sandwiches provided by our MWF Group.....so please bring your favorite side hot/cold and a desert and join us for some great fellowship.
I can't wait to see you all on Sunday! Its going to be an Awesome, Amazing and Heart Felt Day!!

My loving Lord,
Let the morning bring me work of Your unfailing Love. Help me to put my trust in You and enjoy Your Love shining upon me----even in the midst of my troubles. When I'm struggling with discouragement, I need to affirm my trust in You and remember who You are: Creator and Sustainer of the universe, as well as my Savior, Lord, and Friend. I know I can count on You because Your Love is boundless and steadfast. It never runs out or grows dim, and it doesn't depend on how well I'm performing. Your perfect Love never changes because You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
I'm blessed when I take time to lift up my soul to You---waiting in Your Presence with no pretense and no demands. As I devote time to worshiping and waiting. You work within me and prepare me for the day.
Then You show me the way I should go----step by step.
I'm grateful that You are my God forever and ever;
You will be my Guide even to the end!

Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love.
1 Thessalonians 3:6

Sometimes, when we have heard nothing about someone for a while, we say, "No news is good news!" It is of course much better if good news is conveyed to us: the graduate who tells you that he has found a job--a young man who rejoices because he is getting married. Family achievements and success are always good news. As too are economic progress, political agreements and social justice.
There are also spiritual happenings that are good news. When someone who has never prayed seeks the face of God in prayer, then that is good news. When a young person accepts Christ as his Savior and Redeemer, it is good news. When adults who have long been estranged from one another are reconciled, then that is good news.
When someone who has lived in enmity with God and has wasted many years in a life of unbelief comes to repentance and conversion through bowing in humility before Christ -- then that is the best news. Jesus said, "In the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent" (Luke 15:7). It is good news when a believer in Christ is changed by the Holy Spirit and becomes an effective servant for Christ.
The ultimate good news is that Jesus Christ sacrificed His life so that we can have eternal life.

Lord Jesus, help me to come to a place
where I can spread the Good News.

Loving God,
We call to mind the descent of the Holy Spirit.
As always You have kept Your covenant:
You have set us the other Comforter
to comfort us in our deepest sorrow,
to be our leader when we are unsure of
the road that we must travel,
to be our teacher who reveals Your will to us;
who teaches us how to love You truly and
how to serve our fellow human beings in love.
Send Your Spirit as a flame,
to cleanse and purify me of all false
motives, all envy, all unforgiveness and hate,
all pride and self-exaltation.
Send Your Spirit as a wind,
to rush through my life and bring
new life and growth.
Send Your Spirit as a dove,
to confer on me the peace of God
that transcends all human understanding.
Send Your Spirit as water,
to wash me whiter than snow
and to allow me to grow spiritually so that I
may bear the fruit that befits my conversion.
Send Your Spirit as the dew,
to refresh me and nourish me with heavenly strength.
Recreate, O Spirit, let live, O Spirit.
Let the kingdom come in glory.

My ever-never God,
Sometimes I feel as if I'm in a desolate place----devoid of Your loving companionship. But whether I sense Your Presence or not, I can call out to You and know that You are with me. The Bible promises that You are near to all who call on You. As I whisper Your Name in tender trust, help me cast my doubts to the wind!
I need to spend some time telling You about my troubles and seeking Your guidance. Then I'll change the subject to You---praising You for Your greatness and majesty, Your Power and Glory. I'll thank You for the many good things You have done and are doing in my life. Lord, You are richly present in my praise and thanksgiving!
Your Word instructs me to taste and see that You are good. The more I focus on You and Your blessings, the more fully I can taste Your goodness. The sweetness of Your unfailing Love delights me. The heartiness of Your mighty strength encourages me. You satisfy the hunger of my heart with the Joy and Peace of Your Presence, assuring me: "I am with you and will watch over you wherever You go."

Just a REMINDER:
The "Abundance Quartet" will be here this Sunday Morning at 10:00AM for our worship service.
This is an excellent group and they do great and uplifting gospel music with a message through their songs. I pray that you will take some time out of your Sunday Morning and come and join us for great music. Then stay and join us for a Potluck Lunch which will be a great time fellowship. The "Abundance Quartet" will be joining us for lunch, plus they will have some merchandise for sale afterwards.
So please come and join us and bring your friends, family, neighbors or anyone that would totally enjoy some great music and fellowship. If you would like to bring a side dish to go with Ham and Turkey Sandwiches that would be great or even a dessert.
