In this powerful message, Pastor Milton Bunting continues Ebenezer Baptist Church’s 2026 theme: Focused, Faithful, and Financially Savvy. This installment, “Becoming Focused When Your Vision Is Impaired,” challenges us to confront the things that blur our spiritual sight and pull us away from Christ.

Rooted in Hebrews 12:2, Pastor Bunting urges us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He draws from the two-stage healing in Mark 8:22–25 to reveal how partial restoration can still leave us seeing life unclearly. Like the blind man who saw people “as trees walking,” we too can live with distorted vision when our focus is off.

He identifies common vision blockers such as a weakened prayer life, pain, stress, disappointment, fear, unmet expectations, and comparison. Each of these can quietly shift our attention away from Christ if left unchecked.

Through the example of Peter walking on water in Matthew 14:28–31, we’re reminded how quickly we begin to sink when our focus moves from Jesus to our circumstances. Pastor Bunting also shares a personal moment of losing intentional focus during a busy season, and how returning to consistent, solitary prayer restored his clarity.
