Two years ago, Christian Executive Fellowship was a conviction and a Wednesday morning.

Today it is a community of more than 100 Christian leaders who show up to pray, open Scripture, and tell each other the truth about their work, their homes, and their faith.

Starting today, the Otten Family will match every gift to CEF, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, through December 31.

We are calling it the Iron Sharpens Iron Match, because that is what a match is. One gift meets another, and both go further.

Your gift keeps the monthly gatherings open, sustains the Thursday He-Brews conversation, brings strong voices into the room, and lays the groundwork for chapters beyond the Twin Cities (starting with Chicago in January!).

One more story from Wednesday worth carrying into the weekend.

Krystal Parker from the US Christian Chamber of Commerce told us about Correct Craft, the boat company that kept its doors closed on Sundays. When they were asked to build 300 boats on a wartime deadline, the obvious move was to open on Sundays and push through. They didn’t. They kept the Sabbath, trusted God with the schedule, and delivered anyway.

The math said one thing. Faithfulness said another. God honored the faithfulness.

Most of us will never get a deadline that dramatic. But we make the same choice in smaller ways every week: whether our convictions hold when the pressure makes them inconvenient.

That was Krystal’s thread all morning. The bridge that stood perfectly over a river that moved. The ditches dug in a dry valley, with no wind and no rain, before there was any sign of water. Obedience first, evidence later.

So take this Saturday seriously. Rest like you trust Him with Monday.

Krystal Parker knocked it out of the park.

She opened with a bridge in Honduras, engineered to survive the strongest hurricane on record. It survived. Then the river moved. What was left was a perfectly built bridge to nowhere.

Her challenge to the room was simple and uncomfortable. You can be sound, faithful, and still built for a river that has moved on. The marketplace is accelerating. A faith that refuses to grow alongside your calling will keep standing and stop serving.

Then she took us to 2 Kings 3. No wind, no rain, and God still says dig the ditches. Obedience comes before the evidence.

So, what ditch are you digging?

Two things we are asking you to pray over this month:

And Chicago is coming. CEF’s next chapter is forming there now. Pray for the leaders who will fill that room.

Most leaders I know aren’t struggling because they lack information.

They’re struggling because they lack FELLOWSHIP.

They have the knowledge. They have the experience. They may even have the faith. But they don’t have a room full of people who understand what it actually costs to lead, and who are willing to say so out loud.

That’s the gap CEF was built to close.

Not with a program. With a table. With people who’ve decided that iron sharpening iron isn’t just a verse, it’s a practice.

Six days from today, we’re gathering at Westwood Community Church. October 28. 7:30 AM. Krystal Parker is speaking. And we are marking two years of this.

Too busy. Not sure it was for them. Didn’t know anyone going.

They came anyway. And most of them will tell you it was the best decision they made that month.

Twelve days.

That’s how long until a room full of people who actually get it gathers at 7:30 AM on October 28.

No agenda that protects anyone’s feelings. No networking theater. Just Christian leaders who’ve decided that leading in isolation is a choice they’re done making.

CEF exists for exactly this. Not for a title. Not for a season. For the person underneath the role.
