The biblical story of Cain and Abel, found in Genesis, teaches about the destructive nature of sin, such as jealousy and rage, and the consequences of a selfish heart. It shows that the sincerity and attitude of a person's offering are more important than the offering itself, as God rejected Cain's sacrifice while accepting Abel's. The narrative also illustrates God's warning and mercy, as He advises Cain to control his anger before punishing him with exile for murdering his brother.
