Good Morning

Adam answered, I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.
Genesis 3:10

Adam realized that by his sin he had broken the bond with God that was sustained in his daily walk with him. This time, when God walked in the garden, Adam was afraid and hid from God. He knew that God’s penetrating gaze would see through to his guilt and failure.
When God confronted Adam with his sin, he refused to accept responsibility and tried to excuse himself by blaming Eve. In fact, Adam also tried to pass the blame along to God by saying, The woman you put here with me she gave me some fruit from the tree. Then Eve, in turn, blamed the serpent. Once fellowship is broken by sin, the “blame game” begins.
We do not like others to see us as we really are.
But escape from our shame is possible only when we come out of the shadows and stand in the light of God’s forgiving love and grace.
Prayer
Lord, I am ashamed to reveal myself to you. Yet you know me as I really am. You know my sinfulness. Forgive me and help me to enjoy fellowship with you and my neighbor.
In Jesus Name Amen.
Have a blessed day

Good Morning

God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power
2 Timothy 1:7

Spiritual shyness is that uncomfortable feeling or sense of anxiety that grips you when you have an opportunity to talk with someone about the Lord. We've all been there, haven't we? The opportunity presents itself, but we choke under pressure.
Spiritual shyness afflicts all of us at times. In some situations we never quite get around to asking someone "the big question" or offering "the invitation" to come and see Jesus. How many of our family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances could say to us, "I never believed in Jesus because you never asked me to? I never joined God's family because you never invited me to." Paul reminds us that "God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power."
God is the One who can tame our fears. With prayer and practice, every believer can become an effective witness.
Prayer
Father, open our mouths to speak of your transforming love. Replace our timidity with confidence and courage so that others may know you and live. In Jesus, Amen.
Have a blessed day

Good Morning
Encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
1Thessalonians 5:14

Paul urges us to be our best selves for everyone we encounter. Some people find that easier to do than others do. People who are disheartened can be a bit difficult to spend time with. The emotions of others tend to affect us, so we might prefer to be with people who have happiness and excitement to share. But Paul points out that to be truly Christlike, we also need to give our time to those who are struggling.
It’s interesting that Paul also goes on to tell us to rejoice always (v. 16). Entering into a disheartening story should not dishearten us. It might make us sad or angry, but it shouldn’t cause us to lose hope.
With hope we retain joy despite the sadness or anger we may feel with a disheartened friend, because we know that the disheartening things of this world do not have the final say. And we can bring that hope and joy into the other person’s story, doing so in a way that shows they are not alone.
Prayer
Jesus, as you have entered into our stories, shared our pains, and yet become our hope, let us be like you for others. In Jesus Name Amen
Have a Blessed weekend

Good Morning
We do not want you to ... grieve like the rest who have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
None of us escapes suffering; all will know the grief of loss. Yet there are degrees of grief. Some people experience a grief that's intense, almost too much to endure. For others, grief is more like a nagging presence, a spoiler. The Bible does not deny that there is much heartbreak; nor does it forbid us a sad face as though tears were a betrayal of faith. But it does warn against despair, the settled conviction that all will come to a bad end. The Scriptures dare to speak of hope even in the face of death. There are many reasons for gathering for worship on Sunday some better than others. Let's do so in the desire to honor God and renew our trust in the Lord. Only in God can we be seized by the hope mentioned in our Scripture reading for today. This is a hope that believes, despite all devastating evidence to the contrary, that Jesus will one day restore every inch of this planet to live with us and reunite us with our loved ones. When we are ignorant of this hope, grief wins.
Prayer
Dear God, sooner or later we all experience death firsthand. Give us the sure hope that in Christ those who die are alive forevermore. In his name we pray. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day

Good Morning
We ought always to thank God for you
because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
1 Thessalonians 2:13

We have to be patient and rely fully on God. Many of his plans are hidden from us. But God’s will for our life as Christians is clear: We must be a living testimony to the saving grace of Christ. And we must share this hope with others by witnessing through what we say and do.
The apostle Paul thanks God for choosing the Thessalonians believers to be saved through faith and the sanctifying work of the Spirit. Paul was likely the one who started the church there by preaching in a local synagogue (see Acts 17:1-4). But instead of taking any credit for that, Paul simply gives thanks to God.
Many of our readers share their concern for their unbelieving relatives and friends. They pray regularly that these loved ones may come to know Jesus as their Savior. Based on the Scriptures, my encouragement is this: Trust the Lord, witness about his love boldly, and let the Spirit use your testimony for God’s purpose in his time!
Prayer
Father, make us a living witness to your saving love and mercy in Jesus Christ. Purify our imperfect testimony by your Spirit’s power so that others may believe in the truth. In Jesus Name Amen
Have a Blessed Day

Good Morning
The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.
2 Thessalonians 3:10

The apostle Paul was a bivocational pastor who worked as a tentmaker. He was not afraid to use himself as a role model of a diligent worker. In effect, he said, If you are unwilling to work, you will not eat. This does not mean the Bible wants us to be workaholics or to disrespect people who cannot work. God told Adam and Eve to care for the garden he had made (Genesis 1:28-30), and he showed by example the good rhythm of work and rest (2:2) to help us have a healthy view of work.
Do you have some chores to do? Do them without complaining. Thank the Lord for the opportunity to serve others and to glorify God by using his gifts. And tomorrow, as God gives you the opportunity to rest, thank and praise him for the opportunity to worship him and be reenergized for the work you have to do next week.
Prayer
Thank you, Father, for the rhythm of work and rest in our lives. May we praise you on Saturday as we do our chores and on Sunday as we gather with fellow believers to worship you In Jesus Name Amen.
Have a blessed day

Good Morning

The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

When we consider faithfulness, we can see that this is especially anchored in God’s character. The Old Testament of the Bible resounds with examples of God’s faithfulness. God is faithful and keeps his promises, despite his people’s unfaithfulness to him. And in the New Testament the Greek word for “faithfulness” points to being full of faith. That says something about a person’s dedication as well as their reliability. A faithful person not only has strong faith; that person is someone in whom others have faith. A faithful believer not only trusts wholeheartedly in God; that person is someone others know they can trust.
We see the connection most clearly between our faith and the Lord’s faithfulness. The Lord has pledged always to love us, despite our unfaithfulness to him. And the Lord is faithful. God’s covenant faithfulness is the sure foundation on which all our faith securely rests.
Prayer
O God our Father How comforting it is to know that our faith rests on the solid ground of your promises. Help us to grow in our faithfulness to you. In Jesus Name Amen.
Have a blessed day

Good Morning

If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love
John 15:10

Why do we sin? It is born of desire. In the moment we sin, giving in to the false promises of some form of temptation, it's because we desire something or someone more than we desire God and all his promises in Christ Jesus. Sin is born of affection!
The first commandment says, You shall have no other gods before me, and the tenth commandment adds, You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor (Exodus 20:3, 17). These commands about God's amazing love are actually two sides of the same coin. In both God is saying, You shall desire, crave, and find your purest pleasure and satisfaction in me in no one and in nothing else before or above me!We willingly give in to temptation and choose the path of sin in a foolish attempt to fill the empty places of our lives, places that only God can fill. God commands us to desire him because he knows that when we obey, we will have all the satisfaction and joy we could ever want or find in this world.
Prayer
Father, there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.Help us to do your good will, that we might have the joy you give so faithfully. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Have a blessed weekend

Good Morning
The dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
Revelation 12:17

Satan the great dragon, the serpent, the tempter rebelled against God, who is right and just, who wrote his law into the universe.
Satan knows who all the followers of Christ are. We are “those who keep God’s commands” and hold to the testimony about Jesus. We are not wearing moral camouflage. We are recognized as followers of Christ because we aim to live by God’s law of love.
So Satan is constantly after us. He tempts us. He mocks us. “What, you think you need to be sexually pure? How naïve.You think you need to give one day a week to God? You’ll never get ahead. You think you need to tell the truth, even when you’re online? No, online communication is different.” There is no end to the ways Satan can tempt us. Ever since he broke the law of God, he searches for others to join his rebellion. And that happens when we leave the path of God’s truth and follow the lies of Satan.
As long as you live, Satan will tempt you to turn away from God. And we turn away if we ignore or disobey God’s law. This is the battle of our lives.
Prayer
Lord, help us to overcome temptation. We know that Satan wants us to ignore or disobey you, but you want us to love and obey you. Help us to be victorious, in Christ, I pray. Amen.
Have a blessed day
