Praise The Lord friends! I am excited to work with you all on some new songs, and even the oldie but goodies! I spoke with Laura today and worked on a few new songs we are going to try. I wanted to create a page as an outlet where we can all share our thoughts and songs that we will be working on or we would like to work on. I want us to be encouraged in The Lord and let Him guide us and use us to spread His gospel. I'm excited to help and want to share a few thoughts I have.
Worship is such an intimate action we get to share with Christ, therefore, we should be happy about it! Outward expressions of Praise help us to show the congregation that IT'S OK to raise your hands, shout, dance the isles, jump, sing, and just Praise however they feel led to Praise!
We have to watch our actions: If we are sitting like bumps on logs...that's what the congregation is going to do. We can't make anyone worship, but we are the ones they are focused on. If we feel His presence, we can't be shy about it, we have to do what we feel led to do. If you need to stop and Praise, stop and Praise. If you need to run the isles, run the isles. If you need to pray at the altar, pray at the altar.
We have to be mindful though there is a "Worship Leader", we are all in essence Worship Leaders. We are the ones doing what we are called to do, using our talents, in our own ways. No ONE person can be a Praise Team, the world team is constructed of more than one person. Though we do need to listen, respect, and support our Worship Leader, you are also a Worship Leader because we are in the front view of the congregation, don't take that position lightly.
We have to join in one mind, and one accord to make worship. We can't let our feelings towards others effect our position in the church. If we don't join together as a team, the whole atmosphere of praise will be broken and after we all have experienced what it's like to join together and feel His presence...I think I can speak for us all and say that we don't want to hinder Gods plans.
Let's be encouraged, let's be bold, let's give God the praise He deserves! Let us not coward down to the formality of the world, but let us be humble in the positions we all carry. Let's encourage ONE ANOTHER. It's all about team work friends, and I can't express how essential that is.
I again want to say that I'm excited about working with you all and doing what I can to boost this great team to the potential I know God has for us all. Let's pray, be open minded, be excited, and be ready for what God is going to do because I feel He has something great in His works. I am no seasoned Worship Leader, but I've been involved in Praise Teams for years as most of you have in several different aspects from sound to playing the piano and I am excited to share my experience and hopefully help get this team ready for the revival God is planning. We need to be ready to help build The Church to what it needs to be, and whether Pastor or musician, we all need to do our part to contribute to building the church back to it's FULL potential!
Ready, set, GO! I believe Laura will be giving us all instruction on a practice Saturday in preparation for Sunday! Let's start getting excited now. Let's come expecting GREAT and MIGHTY things we know are possible from The Lord.
I love you all and hope that this is the time, and that this is the season for a GREAT revival at Metro Christian Center!
