While Mike and I were in Israel, I had the honor of reading the passage of the battle between David and Goliath at the place where it occurred.
My heart and faith is always encouraged when I read what David said to Goliath.
“This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.”
I was reminded again this morning of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

Reading 1 Samuel 17:1-30 this morning about the encounter of David and his older son.
Be obedient to your Father, don’t allow what others think of your occupation, stature, motives or appearance to detour you from who God is and His plan for your life. Don’t allow the enemy to taunt you through them!
God calls His shepherd boys to be His Kings, He calls His servant girls to be His Queens!

“Unquestioned Revelation” -
Is found as we remain in the place of “quiet rest near to the heart of God,” and as we allow the Holy Spirit to:
* Convict the world of sin and convince us of righteousness.
* Guide us into all Truth and disclose to us what He hears from the Father as to what is to come.
* Glorify Jesus and take what is His and disclose it to us.
When we come to the place of “quiet rest near to the heart of God,” we will be confident that, “He knows all things.”
We will have :
His Peace that “passes all understanding,”
His “perfect Love that will cast out all fear.”
Our Father in heaven- “Hold us who wait before You, “ near to Your heart !

Activity Is Not Enough
" And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." Mark 6:31
" Those who try to give warning to the Christian Church are never very popular. Still, I must voice the caution that our craze for "activity" brings very few enriching benefits into our Christian circles. Look into the churches, and you will find groups of half-saved, half -sanctified, carnal people who know more about social niceties than they do about the New Testament.
It is a fact that many of our church folks are activists - engaged in many religious journeys - but they do not seem to move up any closer to Jesus in heart and in spirit.
This modern religious emphasis on activity reminds me of the Japanese mice I have seen in the pet store window. They are called waltzing mice - but they do not waltz. They just run continuously.
Many in our church hope to have a part in "something big and exciting." But God calls is back - back to the simplicity of the faith, back to the simplicity of Jesus Christ and His in changing Person!"

Father in Heaven, You came into this world to - seek and save those who are lost. You also came to destroy the works of the devil. You also came to Save, Heal, and Deliver from the principalities and powers of darkness. You also came to lead Your church (Your people) in Triumph! You commissioned Your Church to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature so that whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved. It is only through Your Word, and by the Power of the Holy Spirit this can be done.
Father, help me to only be about Your business so that Your will will be done on earth as it is in heaven ! Amen and Amen!

A Believing Remnant
" Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of Grace." Romans 11:5

"What is God trying to don with His believing people?- the Bible calls is a remnant according to Grace, believers taken out of the great, swarming of so-called religious people in today's world.
I am inclined to join others in wondering if The Lord is postponing His coming because He is trying to get His Bride ready.
For years it has been the popular idea in evangelical Christianity that the whole body of believers in Christ would rise like a flock of frightened birds when The Lord comes. But A. B. Simpson and William MacArthur and others in the past generations said, " Oh no! The Lord will take with Him those who are prepared and ready for His coming !"
I so not presume to give an answer satisfying to everyone on our churches. But I know that many Christians are too smug about this, saying in effect: " I am converted to Christ through Grace, so I can live as I please!"
Of some things we cannot be dogmatic; but we know this for sure- God has no halfway house between heaven and hell where He takes us to fumigate us!

Heavenly Father, I thank You that it is not Your will for anyone to perish but all to come to repentance.
I also thank You that through Your Grace You can graft those of us who have sinned back into your tree of life through forgiveness of sins in Christ alone!
Please help us, ( Your remnant, Your true church), to: Pray for those who are not saved and walk in a manner worthy of the call so that they will come to know You as Lord of their life!
Amen and Amen!
