🌿 A NEW SEASON IS HERE! 🌿
There are seasons when God calls us to pause, reflect, and prepare—and there are seasons when He says, “It’s time to move forward.”
We are stepping into a new season! A season of renewed faith, deeper worship, greater unity, intentional service, and fresh vision.
What God is doing may not look like what He has done before. The new season may require us to trust Him differently, serve differently, love more intentionally, and be willing to step beyond what is comfortable.
✨ New season. New grace. New opportunities. Same faithful God.

Yesterday was the final Sunday in our August series, “Stronger Together,” and what a powerful way to close out the month!

Pastor Colleen Howard brought the message, “You Must Be Born Again,” reminding us through John 3 and the story of Nicodemus that knowing about God, coming to church, or simply being a good person is not enough. We must experience a genuine spiritual transformation and have a personal relationship with Jesus.

The service was filled with worship, prayer, encouragement, and standing together as a church for those believing God for healing, breakthroughs, families, employment, and other needs.

Then came the baptism a beautiful and joyful celebration as members publicly declared their decision to follow Christ and begin a new life in Him.

What a fitting conclusion to “Stronger Together”: being born again, choosing Christ, and walking this journey together as one body.

What an incredible Sunday our NexGen Service
As we continued our series “One People. One Language. One Mission,” this week’s theme, “STRONGER TOGETHER,” was a powerful reminder of what can happen when God’s people come together with one heart and one purpose.

📖 Pastor C reminded us through Genesis 11:1–9, the story of the Tower of Babel, that there is tremendous power in unity. The people had one language, one vision, and were determined to build together. Their story shows us just how much can be accomplished when people are united, but it also reminds us that our unity must ultimately be aligned with the purpose and will of God.

There is strength in togetherness:

When we stop competing and start connecting, when we recognize and embrace the different gifts among us, and when we choose to work together rather than apart, we become stronger.

And what a fitting message for our Next Gen Service! Our young people reminded us that they are not simply the church of tomorrow, they are an important and vibrant part of the Church TODAY!

Different gifts.
Different personalities.
Different generations.
But ONE PEOPLE. ONE LANGUAGE. ONE MISSION.
And when we worship together, serve together, build together, and remain united around God’s purpose…

WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER! 💪🏽
What a beautiful reminder from Pastor C and our Next Gen family today: we can accomplish so much more when we move together in the direction God is leading us.
Let’s keep building.
Let’s keep believing.
Let’s keep moving forward—TOGETHER! 🙌🏽

A huge shout-out to the barber who blessed our young men with some fresh, back-to-school trims! 🙌🏽❤️ Because Next Gen is about more than worshipping together, we’re about showing up for our young people, pouring into them, and making sure they know they are seen, valued, and loved.

Serving Together, Growing Together ❤️
There is something powerful about people coming together with one heart, one purpose, and a willingness to serve. The work of the church is not accomplished by one person—it takes all of us working together.
Every act of service matters. Every prayer, every helping hand, every encouraging word, every task completed behind the scenes, and every person who gives their time and gifts helps strengthen the body of Christ.

Today, we want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who leads, serves and volunteers at Evanston Church of God! 🙏🏽❤️
Thank you for helping make our church a place where people can worship, grow, connect, and experience the love of Christ.

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10

When we serve together, we grow together. When we work together, we accomplish more. And when we serve with love, we reflect Christ.

"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity." – Psalm 133:1
Our Annual Picnic & Sports Day was filled with joy, fellowship, laughter, and memories we'll treasure for years to come. Seeing generations come together to celebrate, compete, and simply enjoy one another was a beautiful reminder of God's goodness.
