Mission

We are Catholic men committed to making our community a better place by supporting our Church and the priesthood. Through service, we strengthen our faith and our relationships with God, family, and friends. We are Newman-Columbus Council 1077 of the Knights of Columbus. See Knights of Columbus Supreme Council Website for more information on the Knights of Columbus. See also the State K

nights of Columbus Council Website. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved in your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life. If you are a practicing Catholic man at least 18 years old, the Knights of Columbus may be just what you've been searching for. You can become as involved as you wish. Just remember that the Knights offer an opportunity for fellowship with people who share the same beliefs, and who recognize the same duty to God, to family, and to folks down the block and across the seas. The Knights of Columbus Council 1077 from Evanston dropped off one of the checks from our 2025 intellectual disability (ID) drive fundraiser to one of our partner organizations, Misericordia, who was very appreciative. Thanks to all of the supporters who donated to our annual intellectual disability drive in 2025. We will post more pictures soon as we distribute more of the checks to the other partner organizations. St. John XXIII Parish Evanston

An interesting article from the Chicago Catholic newspaper about the beginnings of the Knights of Columbus tootsie roll intellectual disability drive, which started in 1970, thanks to all of our neighbors in Evanston area for helping make our annual tootsie roll fundraiser a success

Each September, Knights of Columbus fan out across the Chicago area wearing yellow safety vests and armed with buckets and Tootsie Rolls for the annual candy drive benefiting people with intellectual disabilities.
