Our garden is beginning to bloom at St. Mark’s. The peonies are in full bloom, and the beauty they bring to our grounds is a gift to everyone who passes.

We give thanks for all the hands that tend and nurture our garden throughout the year. Walk by anytime—come sit on a bench, breathe it in, and let the beauty wash over you.

Lord, we thank you for the wonder of growing things—for color and fragrance, for the slow miracle of seed and soil, and for the faithful hands that care for this little corner of your creation. May all who pass through find a moment of peace and your presence here. Amen.

What's Everyone Lookin' At?
A Stained Glass Tour of St. Mark's Church
Saturday, May 16 from 2-2:45 pm

What's that little lamb so interested in? Take the tour to find out!

Stained-glass windows are a unique art form, admired for centuries. St. Mark’s is honored to house windows commissioned from 1899 to the 1950s, many of which were imported from England. Come engage with these storied art pieces so that you can learn the stories behind these windows that add so much beauty to our community.

This is a 45-minute guided tour with a light reception and informal Q&A following the tour. The church and tour are ADA accessible. Parking is available in the church’s circular drive off of Ridge Ave., as well as on Grove St. and on Oak Ave. RSVP on Eventbrite.

Join us Sunday, May 3, for our Annual Choral Evensong. The service begins at 7pm, with a 15-minute organ prelude starting at 6:45pm. Parking is available at Roycemore School (1200 Davis St.) for this service.

Choral Evensong sits at a unique place in the Anglican liturgical tradition. Rooted in the ancient offices of Vespers and Compline, it is an evening prayer that slows the world down—a contemplative, sung offering that has drawn worshippers for centuries. Our Annual Evensong is the moment each year when we press into that tradition most fully: guest singers join our choir, a visiting organist takes the bench, and I have the privilege of conducting. I confess that the week after each Evensong, I begin planning the next. It is that kind of service.

This year's Evensong carries particular weight. Many of you knew Bob Molumby—his warmth, his presence, and the depth of his love for music. In his memory, I have composed a new choral work, and this Sunday our choir will offer its world premiere: "Abide with Us." The title draws on the plea of the disciples on the road to Emmaus—"Stay with us, for it is toward evening" (Luke 24:29)—a text that has long been associated with Evensong, and one that felt, in every way, right for this moment. It is an honor beyond words to offer this music in Bob's name.

We are also privileged to welcome Kipp Gill as our guest organist, who joins us for both the 10am service and Evensong. You can read more about Kipp below, but I will say simply: the combination of his artistry and our instrument is not to be missed.
