Lutheran Campus Ministry at NU

Lutheran Campus Ministry at NU Sunday Worship during the School Year: 11:00am

Wednesday Worship & 21theo: 6:00pm Welcome to the page for Lutheran Campus Ministry at Northwestern!

The purpose of LCM, as a community of believers in the Lutheran tradition, is to serve God and God’s people. We are called to share God’s love in Christ on the Northwestern campus and in the larger community. In response to the barriers humans often construct, we affirm with the apostle Paul that in Christ “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor

female” (Gal. 3:28). Therefore, we welcome all God’s people regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, age, handicap, s*x, gender, gender identity, and s*xual orientation. We embrace and celebrate the differences between members of our community, and we encourage everyone to contribute to the ministry according to their own unique gifts. People of all backgrounds - religious and otherwise - are invited to explore and engage in the LCM community. Whether you're a lifelong Lutheran, a person of another faith, someone who has had negative or no experience with Christianity, or somewhere in between, you're invited to come, share your story and hear the stories of others. We are a student-led ministry with an ELCA pastor. We practice our faith through worship, education, fellowship, witness, campus and community service, and ecumenical and interfaith ties. Our building, University Lutheran Church, is at 2204 Orrington. We're just a block west of Tech. You can find us on the NU map at maps.northwestern.edu! To stay updated about service, learning and fellowship opportunities, send an email to [email protected] and ask to be added to our mailing list. Pastor Deanna Langle is always available for conversation - you can email her with any and all questions about faith, life, or our ministry at [email protected].

Thank you to Curtis' mom and grandma who traveled to Evanston this week and made a delicious breakfast for Supper Worship this week! (Curtis' mom, Melissa, is on the LCMNU Board of Directors). We also had a very well-attended Vocational Legacy Night with our seniors (Michael, Will, Isaay, and Jack) who will be graduating soon. They offered such wonderful reflections on their faith and on their time at LCMNU. We will miss you, all, and are so grateful that you've been a part of this ministry.
