We would like to take a moment to clear up some confusion that has been circulating regarding the church’s page and livestream videos. Some of this miscommunication stems from not understanding how the system works, while, unfortunately, some of it has come directly from leadership in ways that have driven confusion and division.
To set the record straight:
• No one deleted or removed any live streams. Facebook automatically removes all live videos after 30 days, per their updated policy effective February 2025. You can read that policy directly here: Facebook Business Help – “How long we show live videos.” https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1005165994166600
• Claims that login information was withheld or that the page was being “held hostage” are completely inaccurate. The original church page was created years ago and linked to each volunteer’s personal account, not to a shared ministry profile. That means volunteers could post or stream to the page but did not have specific usernames or passwords that could be transferred.
• A new page was created so that livestreaming could continue seamlessly. This was not because anyone was “holding a page hostage,” but simply due to a technical limitation with the original setup. As a matter of fact, upon departure from the media ministry, volunteers outlined the steps needed to maintain the media operations at the same quality level moving forward. Unfortunately, those recommendations were ignored early on. Instead, false accusations were made, suggesting we sabotaged the church’s media presence — which is entirely false.
• For those seeking past recordings: ALL church live streams are stored on the church’s internal network for one year before being deleted per Boxcast policy. If you need a copy of a specific service or funeral livestream, please contact the church office directly and they should be able to put you in contact with the current media personnel — those files can be retrieved within that time frame.
• It’s also worth clarifying that managing a public page is not the same as managing a personal account. The Board’s lack of understanding of how these systems operate has led to unnecessary confusion and misplaced blame.
During a recent private meeting held with the Board of Directors and several concerned individuals, information discussed in confidence was shared outside of that meeting by those who should not have been in attendance, leading to further conflict and misinformation on social media which unfortunately led to some heated discussions on Facebook. This type of action is unacceptable and out of order, as it undermines trust and unity.
These publicly shared false statements and misunderstandings have caused unnecessary tension — not only within the church but also throughout the wider community. This situation could have been avoided entirely had leadership sought proper technical understanding before making public statements that cast blame and damaged the reputation of faithful volunteers.
Spreading false information — intentionally or otherwise — does not serve the body of Christ, nor does it build unity.
To help restore peace and clarity, we respectfully ask the Board of Directors to publicly address and correct this matter, just as publicly as the original statements were made.
We share this not to stir further division, but to bring truth, transparency, and healing.
Beginning February 2025, Live videos will be stored for 30 days after they’re published on your page or profile, allowing you to share replays, delete, or download them.
