Shabbat is a way to experience pause and joy and gratitude and community and connectivity, to welcome in the transition from the work week to a time of rest, community, and pleasure. It is a gift from our history and tradition that offers us a chance to breathe and reset.

Join us tonight for our Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Rabbi Rachel Weiss and Cantor Howard Friedland. 7pm at JRC.

Today and every day, we remember the 1200 people massacred on October 7th and the countless people who have been killed since. May the ongoing violence and brutality cease as we commit to our values of Human Rights, Tikkun Olam, Shalom, Connection, Wide Tent, and “And.” May their memories be the blessings that pave the road to peace.

Welcome Marques Hollie, JRC’s very first rabbinic intern! Named one of New York Jewish Week’s 36 to Watch, Marques is in his second to last year at RRC (Reconstructionist Rabbinical College). Marques is an ordained Maggid (sacred storyteller) and an operatically trained vocalist, and has served Jewish communities across North America and the United Kingdom as a student rabbi, teacher of Torah, ritual leader, and cantorial soloist since 2012. We are truly honored to welcome Marques into the JRC community for a year of reciprocal learning.
