How will you become more like Jesus Christ today?
2 Nephi 31:20

"I know that as we take that one step closer to Jesus Christ everyday that we can become like Him and live with our Father in Heaven!"

I'm Elder Christiansen and I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my savior, he died on the cross and three days later took up his life again. I know that because of this one day I will live again. I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same Church that Jesus founded anciently once again restored to the earth. I know this through the power of the Holy Ghost and testify that by that same power anyone with a true desire and a pure heart can come to know the same. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Would you like to have a guide with you in every moment, in all that you do? Would you like to have a friend who will always comfort and uplift you when you need him to? Would you like to feel peace despite the rush and turmoil that is ever present in the world?

All of these things come from the Holy Ghost, who temporarily helps all righteous men, but stays permanently with those who have been baptized and keep the promises that they made at baptism.

3 Nephi 27:20
"Come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day."

I testify that by the power of the Holy Ghost, we can have peace even in the darkest and most difficult of our trials. We can be comforted even as we are bombarded on every side by hate, mockery, and false accusations. And we can receive guidance when we are confused and lost, unable to find the path on our own. I know that the Holy Ghost will help you in all these things, because he has helped me. To have him with you at every moment of your life, you must be baptized. This I say in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hello, my name is Elder Dixen! I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. When we have faith in him, we trust in God's plan for us and remember the sacrifice he made for each and every one of us. Christ is the perfect example for us to follow in our lives, especially when we have difficulties and trials. God understands our problems and wants to help us, and when we pray we can ask for help and guidance, he will help us according to his plan. We read in 3 Nephi 18: 19-21,

"19 Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name;

20 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.

21 Pray in your families unto the Father, always in my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed."

I know that God loves each and every one of us and that Jesus Christ died so that we could live with our families forever with God again. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mosiah 2:17
"When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

As the scripture states, service to others is not only a good thing to do, but is in fact a form of worship to God. When we serve others, we show that we love them, even as Jesus loves us. (John 13:34) Service to others not only improves and brightens the lives of those around us, but also improves and brightens the life of the server! I have seen in my own life that as I serve others I become happier and motivated to do even more!

Similarly, one can interpret from this scripture that to serve God, one must serve their fellow being. God loves all of us as his children, and he wants what is best for all of us. Thus to serve God, to do his will, is to serve his other children who are all around us, always helping those in need and giving a smile to those in despair. I testify that as you serve those around you, you will feel hope, peace, and the love of God in your life. I also testify that as you serve, you will bring that same hope, peace, and love into the lives of others. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Amos 3:7

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

This weekend we will have the privilege of listening to a prophet in our day and age. Throughout all of human history God has called prophets to declare his word to teach his people and bring them back to him. As the quote above from the Prophet Amos of the Old Testament says, God does nothing but (or without) telling his prophets. Thus we understand that God sends prophets in all ages to speak what is most needed in that age.

Our current prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, said in his last General Conference Address in October of 2023,

"Here is the great news of God’s plan: the very things that will make your mortal life the best it can be are exactly the same things that will make your life throughout all eternity the best it can be! Today, to assist you to qualify for the rich blessings Heavenly Father has for you, I invite you to adopt the practice of 'thinking celestial'! Thinking celestial means being spiritually minded. We learn from the Book of Mormon prophet Jacob that 'to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.'”

In our day to day lives we can sometimes forget the things that are of true significance. Patience, long-suffering, and wisdom are needed now more than ever in a society of quick pleasures and short attention spans. We wish to second the invitation our beloved prophet gave; Think Celestial! When someone has wronged you, and you can't forgive them, Think Celestial! When you are in a rush and can't seem to achieve what you want quickly enough, Think Celestial! And when you feel burdened beyond your strength, whether that burden is physical, mental, or spiritual, Think Celestial! We promise you that as you put your life into an eternal perspective, your pain will fade, your worries will disappear, and you will find strength to keep going. This we promise, in the sacred and holy name of Jesus Christ, amen.

This weekend we have the marvelous privilege of listening to modern prophets and apostles! This Saturday and Sunday is the 194th annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which is held every 6 months in April and October. In the General Conference, leaders of the Church, Prophets and Apostles, talk about the doctrines and teachings that the world needs to hear to hear in this day and age. We know that if we listen to their message, and apply it to our lives, we will have peace and calm in our lives, and will be able come closer to God and Jesus Christ. Tuesday 25th: ¡ Teachings of Jesus Christ!

Matthew 25: 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

The Savior taught many precious truths throughout his earthly ministry, including the last week in his mortal life. He has delighted us with his words full of love and hope. From chapter 25 of Matthew in verses 34-45 we can learn the importance of Service to God's children!❤️ Another scripture from the Book of Mormon supports these beautiful verses that the Lord taught us, found in Mosiah 2:17 "And behold, I tell you these things that you may learn wisdom ; so that you may know that when you are at the service of your fellow men, you are only at the service of your God."

Serving our neighbor with love is one of the greatest displays of affection and love that human beings can express. We must remember the 2 great commandments on which the law and the prophets are based, which are: Thou shalt love God with all thy Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength. And the second, like the first, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Matthew 22: 37-40). When we do acts of selfless service, with pure and sincere love, we can change the seconds, the minutes, the hours, the days, the weeks, the months, the years and even the lives of many of our Brothers and Sisters in Christ! And when we do so remember that we are also doing everything to HIM❤️.
Ask yourself these questions: In what ways can I become the answer to someone's prayer? Have I given my time with sincere love? And how can I become more like Jesus Christ through service?

I testify that selfless service is the greatest sign of love that we can give to our fellow human beings, dedicating our time to learn from them, listen, cry and console them. It can help us receive a fullness of joy and irreplaceable happiness for the rest of our lives. And the clearest example is the Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ just as he said it: "The Son of Man did not come to be served, He came to serve" In the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!

Mark 11: 15-17

"15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves."

Throughout his entire earthly ministry, Jesus taught that we need to be peaceful, merciful, and loving, and he preached it by his perfect example. But on this occasion, he was outraged with the way the religious leaders of the time directed the temple, allowing merchants to set up shop within the temple walls, buying and selling where men should have been praying, preaching, and learning. In this moment, Jesus teaches us that we must protect sacred things.

One thing that we need to keep sacred is the Sabbath Day (Sunday), and not make it common. A great way to do this is to go to church and worship God, and then keep your worship in your heart for the rest of the day. When you protect the holy nature of the Sabbath Day, you will feel peace and hope throughout the rest of your week. What else can you do to protect that which is sacred?

Matthew 21: 6-9

"6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

7 And brought the [donkey], and the c**t, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

This week, we celebrate Easter, that glorious time when after lying three days in a tomb, Jesus Christ was resurrected, and conquered death for all mankind. We know that because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, all men and women who have ever lived will one day recieve a perfect, immortal, and glorious body, even though they have died. Jesus broke the chains of death. It is now only a state of temporary inconvenience. How does knowing that all men and women will one day live again help you in your daily struggles?
