Tuesday 25th: ¡ Teachings of Jesus Christ!
Matthew 25: 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
The Savior taught many precious truths throughout his earthly ministry, including the last week in his mortal life. He has delighted us with his words full of love and hope. From chapter 25 of Matthew in verses 34-45 we can learn the importance of Service to God's children!❤️ Another scripture from the Book of Mormon supports these beautiful verses that the Lord taught us, found in Mosiah 2:17 "And behold, I tell you these things that you may learn wisdom ; so that you may know that when you are at the service of your fellow men, you are only at the service of your God."
Serving our neighbor with love is one of the greatest displays of affection and love that human beings can express. We must remember the 2 great commandments on which the law and the prophets are based, which are: Thou shalt love God with all thy Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength. And the second, like the first, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Matthew 22: 37-40). When we do acts of selfless service, with pure and sincere love, we can change the seconds, the minutes, the hours, the days, the weeks, the months, the years and even the lives of many of our Brothers and Sisters in Christ! And when we do so remember that we are also doing everything to HIM❤️.
Ask yourself these questions: In what ways can I become the answer to someone's prayer? Have I given my time with sincere love? And how can I become more like Jesus Christ through service?
I testify that selfless service is the greatest sign of love that we can give to our fellow human beings, dedicating our time to learn from them, listen, cry and console them. It can help us receive a fullness of joy and irreplaceable happiness for the rest of our lives. And the clearest example is the Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ just as he said it: "The Son of Man did not come to be served, He came to serve" In the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
