Martinez, Georgia — The Islamic Society of Augusta extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Brandon Sikes, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. We also offer our deepest sympathy and prayers for the swift recovery of Deputy Gavin White, who was severely injured during the same incident. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

In the wake of this tragedy, we stand in solidarity with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and law enforcement officers everywhere. The courage and sacrifice demonstrated by officers like Deputy Sikes and Deputy White remind us of the risks they take daily to protect our community. We honor Deputy Sikes' ultimate sacrifice and are grateful for his service, while also praying for Deputy White’s healing and strength.

The Islamic faith teaches that saving one life is as if saving all of humanity (Qur’an 5:32), and we recognize the profound commitment of both Deputy Sikes and Deputy White to protecting others. May Deputy Sikes’ memory continue to inspire courage, and may Deputy White's recovery be swift and full.

We offer our deepest gratitude to all law enforcement professionals for their unwavering dedication, and we pledge our ongoing support for the men and women who serve and protect our community.
