We all wear masks sometimes. We pretend we're okay when we're not, hide our struggles from the people around us, or keep our faith quiet because we're worried about what others might think.

But what if hiding who you are is keeping you from experiencing the freedom, community, and purpose God has for you?

Tomorrow, we're talking about why we don't have to hide from God, the church, or the world!

This week at Hope Students, we continued our Bump in the Night series with ZOMBIES: The Walking Dead, and we discovered that the Bible has a lot to say about death and life!

In Ephesians 2:1–10, we learned three important truths:

The Walking Dead: Sin leaves us spiritually dead and separated from God. No amount of good behavior can bring us back to life.

Brought to Life: Two of the most powerful words in Scripture are "BUT GOD!" Through Jesus' death and resurrection, we can be forgiven and made alive in Him. Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith—not something we earn!

Walking in Life: When Jesus gives us new life, we're called to live differently. We don't obey God to earn salvation; we obey because of what He's done for us!
Our biggest takeaway?

Jesus doesn't come to improve dead people. He comes to give dead people LIFE!

And because of Him, we don't have to keep living like we're dead!

With God, death has brought us life!

SPIRITS & DEMONS

This week at Hope Students, we talked about something the Bible takes seriously:spiritual warfare.

We learned that the enemy is real. He lies,tempts, deceives, accuses, and works topull us away from God.

But we also learned something even more important:

The enemy is real, but our God is greater.

He gives us the strength to stand firm.
He gives us the tools to fight.
He gives us the discernment to recognize the enemy's lies.
He gives us everything we need to put on the full armor of God and stand firm in every battle.

We're thankful for the conversations happening in our student ministry and for every student who showed up ready to learn, ask questions,and grow in their faith.

BUMP IN THE NIGHT: WEEK 1 — WITCHCRAFT & WIZARDRY

We kicked off our new series Bump in the Night this week by tackling a topic that can feel strange, uncomfortable, or even scary: witchcraft and wizardry.

We talked about what the Bible actually says about sorcery, fortune-telling, and the occult and discovered that these aren't just fictional ideas from movies or old stories. Scripture takes them seriously, and God repeatedly warns His people to stay away from them.

But we also asked an important question: Why are people drawn to these things?

A lot of it comes down to fear, uncertainty, and our desire for control. We want to know what's coming. We want answers about the future. We want to change things we can't control.

But God offers us something better than trying to control the unknown: He calls us to trust Him.
In Matthew 6, Jesus reminds us that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and cares for us. We don't have to live in fear of what might happen tomorrow because God is already there.

You don't need a better way to see or control the future. You need the One who's already there.

That's what we're going to keep coming back to throughout Bump in the Night: the things the world fears are small compared to the power of our God.
