Good morning, friends! Hope it will be a great and blessed day for you.

I know a few of you (via secure msgs & emails!) are under a lot of stress with tough situations. All of us are, really, but we rely on God for help to get through 'em. Serving Him, we trust His provision for whatever is needed.

Now, if you're interested in how Rennie's getting along, here's a quick view of our morning.

It was easy to see he was not his normal self. He had a bit of difficulty with some basic essentials - no big deal, nothing unusual, nothing to be alarmed about. It occasionally happens.

After just a few moments though, he wanted to go back to bed. "That's okay", I said. "Nothing on the schedule today anyway." He laid down and closed his eyes.

About a half-hour later, when I checked in he was awake and uttering something quietly.

"Why can't I just die", he asked me for the ?-teenth time. "I'm just so tired. Everything is a struggle and I can't do it anymore."

Told him I understand, and knelt by the bed. We talked about how many times, over how many years, it had been a common topic of so many of our conversations.

Told him stories about elder members of my father's family. How they aged, grew tired and feeble, and just finally "wore out" as some folks might say.

I told him firmly, I believe God is using he and I both as witnesses of Jesus' faithfulness and love. We talked about Betty and her service to the Lord, from the beginning to the very end.

We talked about how awards are given for best actor, best catcher, best-in-show animals and etc etc etc. But also how no awards (outside of heaven) are given for "most worthy servant" of God.

Inspired by that thought, I told him we need to find an old, worn out and well-weatherd board. Just paint "Most Tired Award" on it and hang it on the wall.

The way he laughed at that idea - well, you really would have enjoyed it! Eyes sparkling, he nodded approval for the project. Resting easy again, he closed his eyes. I waited a moment or so, then left. I'll check again in a while.

Now I've got a new project: to find an appropriate piece of old board and.....

Have a wonderful day, blessed with the assurance that God loves you. And us. Always!

Betty and I shared our private thoughts on many topics, but there was one topic that was especially close to our hearts:

How it is that so many people cannot be bothered with the thought of a loving God, as she and I each knew Him.

Our attempts to reach some of those folks were, at times, simply rejected and at other times surprisingly welcomed.

Whether they were total strangers or not, we would persist in trying to show them Jesus' character and love. We found we had a better effect working together. There are Biblical views to support that.

There is a wall tile above the back splash of her kitchen counter that inspired and encouraged us to "keep up the good work!"

May it inspire you in similar ways. Peace and God's love to you!

A whole new season for Spring & Summer outdoor ministries has arrived a wee bit early - we'll take it!

A few days of yard maintenance in warm sunshine was truly enjoyable and quite productive.

Looking forward to new folks getting involved in new projects being offered in churches throughout our area - and us too!

We all make mistakes. Two examples are accidental mistakes and ignorant mistakes.

Both can be corrected with a simple, quick apology. Asking for forgiveness should follow.

Let's say for the moment that accidental mistakes are easily recognized as "wrong" because we soon realize that we knew better before they were made.

The other type might not ever be recognized because we didn't know better to begin with - we were ignorant in, or of, whatever we were doing.

But we can still quickly apologize and learn from that error.

Yet whether or not we apologize, we can still remain ignorant of "why" what we did was wrong in the first place.

And that is where even more mistakes are made.

God has given us the Son and the Holy Spirit to help us in all things. Do we listen to them and follow their guidance?

Look into the Bible to learn how offending God in any thing is like offending Him in everything. Look deeply and follow as many leads as you can. You will learn much about loving and serving the Lord.

We hope and pray that you have a wonderful day of discovery!

Hospice advice following a death.....

That some folks like to enjoy significant amounts of time alone in personal interests is understandable. We all do that.

Some examples include artistic painting or creative writing. Solo sailing or kayaking also come to mind. There are many more such pursuits we may prefer to enjoy by ourselves.

And of course, we all sometimes have to do things that don't fit into our desired plans for the day. "Personal time" can become highly valued with unexpected or frequent interruptions.

"Me time" can thus become a rare commodity.

Doesn't everyone feel that way? We think so, and you probably do too.

Talking to God often is one of the things folks here do separately and privately, as well as together.

Because reasons for talking to Him sometimes require greater intimacy, sometimes not.

But talking to our Lord and Master every day is something that should never be put off or averted because of other happenings that we may or may not be prepared for; whatever is happening on any given day will be improved by spending time with the One who most dearly loves us.

You've probably heard about His love. There is none other like it, and the Bible is all about it.

Hope you have a great day. We're praying for you.

The recent death of two friends in Jesus reminds me that time grows short for the work we all have to do.

Larry Ward was treasurer of our group here at Evans Mills Church for several years, helping us get through a bit of rough time together.

James Crouch was a devoted Christian father whose devotion to the Lord was inspirational to all who knew him.

Both were friends and occasional co-workers in Christ with myself and other local groups as well. They live on in their ministries.

Enough said for the moment.

Have a blessed day, and may the Lord defend and protect you.
