*Praise Song Days Of Elijah Mark

These are the days of Elijah
declaring the word of the Lord.
And these are the days of Your servant, Moses,
righteousness being restored.

And though these are days of great trials,
of famine and darkness and sword.
Still we are the voice in the desert crying
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

Chorus:

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call
Lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee
And out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.

And these are the days of Ezekiel,
the dry bones becoming as flesh.
And these are the days of Your servant, David,
rebuilding a temple of praise.

And these are the days of the harvest;
the fields are as white in the world.
And we are the laborers in Your vineyard,
declaring the Word of the Lord.

Chorus

*Call to Worship
Leader: God meets us in the most extraordinary and most ordinary ways in our lives.
People: As we gather to worship, may God help us find courage to live out our faith.
Leader: We praise our God of truth and justice.
People: As we worship, we seek God’s for guidance which leads us to make good decisions in our lives.

Time for Young Christians Rev. Lisa Griffin

*Prayer of Confession
God of Grace, sometimes the call to follow you comes softly and gently. Sometimes, we don’t hear or don’t listen. Other times, we are afraid to live out our faith. We fail to have the courage like the invisible people in the Bible who were willing to tell the truth, no matter what. Forgive us we pray, Amen.

*Assurance of Grace

Pastor: We journey this life in Christ, through Christ, and with Christ. Jesus knows the gifts you bring, and the burdens you bear. Receive God’s grace and forgiveness to embrace the journey.

People: Through Christ’s mercy we know that all things, are possible with God.

#497 vs. 1 & 2

Guide my feet while I run this race,
Guide my feet while I run this race,
Guide my feet while I run this race,
For I don’t want to run this race in vain.

Hold my hand while I run this race,
Hold my hand while I run this race,
Hold my hand while I run this race,
For I don’t want to run this race in vain.

*Hymn Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise Smith
#1 vs. 1 – 3

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light in accessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty victorious, your great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light.
Not wanting, not wasting, but ruling in might,
Your justice like mountains high soaring above,
Your clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

Your life is lifegiving to both great and small;
In all life you’re living, the true life of all,
We blossom and flourish as leaves and as flowers,
Then wither and perish – but naught dims your powers.

*Praise Song I Saw the Light Williams, Sr.
CCLI Song #48064 CCLI License #2647221

I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin,
I wouldn’t let my dear Savior in;
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord! I saw the light.

Chorus:
I saw the light, I saw the light,
No more in darkness, no more in night;
(And) now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord! I saw the light.

Just like a blind man I wandered along,
Worries and fears I claimed for my own;
Then, like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord! I saw the light.

Chorus

I was a fool to wander and stray,
Straight is the gate and narrow the way;
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord! I saw the light.

Chorus

Invitation to Communion

Pastor: This is the table where God intends us to be nourished. So come, you who hunger and thirst for a deeper faith, for a better life, for a fairer world. Jesus Christ, who has sat at our tables, now invites us to be guest at his.

Communion Prayer

Pastor: Eternal God—God of our Savior Jesus Christ, and our God— we witness to your mighty acts and saving love. You called the worlds into being. You breathed the breath of life into your creation. You raised humankind from the dust and fashioned us in your own image, incredible even when we feel invisible. You claimed us as beloved and have never been less than that in your sight. Even in the times when we turned from you and chased after gods of our own making, you sought us out and called us back into right relationship with you. We witness to your creative power and your steadfast faithfulness as we sing our thanks and praise:

All Singing: Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow
Praise Him, all creatures here below
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen.

Pastor: In Jesus of Nazareth, God came to us and shared our common lot.

People: Through Christ’s teachings and example, through his death and resurrection, he conquered sin and death and reconciled creation to himself.

Pastor: We are witnesses of the Holy Spirit.

People: Jesus sends us into the world to give voice to his love and power.

Pastor: We are gifted with the Spirit’s presence that empowers us to be the Church:

People: sharing the hope of Jesus’ life-giving life,

Pastor: meeting the challenges of our world with justice and courage,

People: serving others with the strength of Christ’s compassion,

Pastor: witnessing to God’s word and work in our midst.

People: Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto our gracious God, now and always. Amen

Pastor: On the night on which he was betrayed, and as they were sitting at a meal, Jesus took a piece of bread and broke it. He gave it to the disciples saying, ‘This is my body. It is broken for you. Do this to remember me.’ Later, after they had eaten, he took a cup and said, ‘This cup is the new relationship with God made possible because of my death. Drink this all of you, to remember me.’

All: Holy God, we pray for the fullness of your Spirit to bless this moment where we come together at this table graced with bread and cup. Transform these ordinary provisions into extraordinary gifts of your sustaining grace. Through sharing in this meal, may we be drawn more deeply into relationship with you and may we receive the vision to glimpse how we are to be your body today, Amen.

Sharing Holy Communion

Prayer Of Thanksgiving
Jesus, we thank you for your presence in the simplicity and splendor of this holy meal. Unite us with all who are fed by your body and blood that we may faithfully proclaim the good news of your love and that your universal church may be a rainbow of hope in an uncertain world, Amen.

*Hymn I’m So Glad, Jesus Lifted Me #474 vs. 1 & 3

I’m so glad, Jesus lifted me,
I’m so glad, Jesus lifted me,
I’m so glad, Jesus lifted me,
singing glory, hallelujah
Jesus lifted me.

When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me,
When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me,
When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me,
singing glory, hallelujah,
Jesus lifted me.
