Just a quick update we have had a little confusion from our post and notes sent home last night.

The kids still need to be here at 4:30. They will do their regular activities and the meet back up with parents and family at 6:30 in the sanctuary.

Also remember to send a towel with your lads and lasses as we will have a water slide and bounce house for them at 6:30 after their brief program.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please join us tomorrow evening, Thursday, July 30th for our Bonny Farewell Festivities. We have had a great time this week on our Irish adventure through Psalm 23 and the kids are looking forward to sharing it with you. We will begin at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary where the kids will sing some songs and recite scripture for you and then head over to the Family Life Center for some brisket stuffed potatoes and fellowship. We will also have a water slide and sno cones. Please bring a towel with you for the kids to dry off after the water slide or if you are unable to attend, please send one with them to VBS with their name written on it. We will then take up one final offering to help with a local missionary Jamie Jackson. It's lads vs lasses again this year with the team who collects the most money getting to "pie" the other so please help us by donating to this worthy cause. Thank you for trusting us with your lads and lasses this week at Emerald Crossing so they could learn all about our Good Shepherd, Jesus and grow in His grace. We hope to see you all tomorrow. Brother Jonathan Burge will be serving as our interim pastor while our church prayerfully searches for its next pastor.

Jonathan will continue serving as our youth pastor while also helping lead, care for, and serve our church during this transition. His desire is to love our church family, support our community, and faithfully serve wherever he is needed during this season.

Please continue to pray for Jonathan, our church leadership, and the pastor God is preparing to bring to our church. We are thankful for Jonathan’s willingness to serve and look forward to what God will do in the days ahead.

Youth Pastor/director and his Wife, Michaela

Meet Jonathan, who has been serving in ministry for almost 10 years, beginning his journey at age 19. His path started with an internship in Seminary, Mississippi, followed by nearly four years as a youth pastor at Union Baptist Church, also in Seminary. During this time, his wife Michaela began partnering with him in ministry—even before they were married.
God called them to Texas, where they served at Turning Point before arriving at Central Baptist Church of Evadale as our Youth Pastor. Michaela (pictured with him) has continued to be an invaluable part of our youth ministry, serving faithfully alongside her husband since day one at Central.
Beyond his ministry calling, he is also a teacher and has a passion for photography. What drives him most is his deep care for people and his desire to help them know Jesus personally. His heart for students and commitment to walking with them in their faith journey has been a tremendous blessing to our church family.

April 26th we will be celebrating with Brother Roger as he prepares to retire. Come love on him with us!

For over 30 years, Dianne has been a faithful and loving pastor’s wife, serving with a heart full of grace and kindness. She has poured her love into the people of both churches where they have ministered—teaching, comforting, advocating, counseling, and even working in the kitchen. She has truly worn many hats, embodying the heart of a servant.

We are incredibly blessed to have them both, and we thank God for their unwavering dedication and love! 💕🙏
