Daniel 2:43
“They”
In this study we will take a microscope to verse 43 of chapter 2.
The king had a prophetic dream that extends into the days we live in and Daniel reveals this to the king and us.
Daniel 2:29 (NASB95) "As for you, O king, while on your bed your thoughts turned to what would take place in the future; and He who reveals mysteries has made known to you what will take place."
History tells us who these kingdoms were:
Babylon…Persia…Greece…Rome in two parts.
Daniel 2:40-43 (NASB95) "Then there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; inasmuch as iron crushes and shatters all things, so, like iron that breaks in pieces, it will crush and break all these in pieces. In that you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have in it the toughness of iron, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with common clay. As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. 43 "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.
This will be our focus to unravel a mystery which much of the church seems to be in the dark about.
The feet and the toes (being ten) were made of different substances.
…they will combine with one another in the seed of men.
This pronoun is troubling for many reasons.
‘They’ have to be other than the seed of men so who are ‘they’?
Daniel 2:43 Amplified Bible (AMP) And as you saw the iron mixed with miry and earthen clay, so they shall mingle themselves in the seed of men [in marriage bonds]; but they will not hold together [for two such elements or ideologies can never harmonize], even as iron does not mingle itself with clay.

The Amplified Bible alludes to Spaniards marrying Britons, and they just can’t hang out because they think different; the inter-mingling of races inside the kingdoms is an answer to this verse.
Daniel 2:43 (NKJV) As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.
Who mingles with the seed of men?
I guess a better term to understand would be the ‘seed of men’.
What do you think that term means?
From Adam to you fit in this term ‘seed of men’. So from the text, we have a clear view of our day as we approach the end days that something will mingle with the seed of men – but it won’t be a good mixture.
43 "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.”
I believe the Bible will answer this for you without a doubt, however it will be up to you to believe what God has said about this.

“They”
Jesus says concerning His return in Matthew 24:37 (NASB95) "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah."
The days of Noah affected the entire planet. All flesh dies under the flood from the judgment of God except Noah and his family, WHY?
Genesis 6:1-2 (NASB95) Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
First thing I want you to notice about this passage is it is one sentence split into two verses. People have a hard time with this because it reads as if it were two different sentences, but it is not!

The text just says men in general and daughters in general (not specific people groups,) agreed?
…that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful;
“sons of God”
The phrase written in Hebrew ‘sons of God’ says: Bene Ha Elohim. When this phrase is used in the Old Testament, it refers to beings that are a direct creation of God.
Job 1:6 (NASB95) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.
The beings here are a direct creation of God, to include Satan.
Psalm 14:2 (NASB95) The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.
God looked down from heaven upon the sons of men.
Genesis 6:1-2 (NASB95) Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.

The direct creation of God looked down at daughters of men.
…and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
It doesn’t appear that the women had any choice in the matter!
Genesis 6:4 (NASB95) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
Remember what Jesus said: "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.

The word Nephilim means “fallen ones” but our translations bring out the word giant.
The Descent of the Two Hundred Angels
It came to pass in those days that the children of men multiplied and beautiful and fair daughters were born unto them. The angels, the sons of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another, “Come, let us choose wives from among the children of men and beget children.” And their leader, Semyaza, said to them, “I am afraid that you will not truly agree to do this deed, and I alone will have to pay the penalty of this great sin.” They all answered him saying, “We should all swear to bind ourselves by a mutual oath not to abandon this plan, but to do this thing.” So all together they bound themselves by an oath. There were two hundred, total, that descended in the days of Jared upon Ardis, the summit of Mount Hermon. They called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by oath upon it. These are the names of their leaders: Semyaza, their leader, Arakibal, Rameel, Akibeel, Tamiel, Ramuel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Barakel, Asael, Armaros, Batraal, Ananel, Zavebe, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Yomyael, Sariel. These leaders led the rest of the two hundred angels.

This book has been lost for 1700 centuries to most people, but as I have researched portions of it, The Book of Enoch lends to the understanding of what we are talking about here.
Giants Born
Each of the two hundred chose a wife for himself and they began to go in unto them and to mate with them, and they taught them sorcery and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. These women became pregnant and gave birth to great giants, whose height reached up to three thousand ells [R… This is probably a corruption of thirty. An ell was the equivalent of a Hebrew Cubit. So, thirty ells or cubits would be equal to between forty and forty-five feet. The tallest post-flood giant mentioned in Scripture was Og, king of Bashan, who was just short of thirteen feet tall.]
These giants consumed all the food; and when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. They also began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another's flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.

Now this is an interesting statement.
What I present next is just a thought (conjecture) from me, but the reality is intriguing.
‘They also began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another's flesh, and drink the blood.’
According to the Book of Enoch, these hybrid offspring enslaved Adam’s sons and daughters, ate human flesh, and corrupted the animal kingdom.
Genesis 6:11-12 (NASB95) Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

A centaur and a cyclops, a griffin and a unicorn — and their bones — not the usual stuff of science exhibits.
All the same, the bones of the "Centaur of Tymfi" stands proudly on display at Tucson's International Wildlife Museum in a just-opened exhibit. Nearby is the skull of a "griffin," a legendary flying lion with an eagle's skull, and the noggin of a "cyclops," the one-eyed giant of Greek myth. After what?
We know from the Biblical record giants span the flood, because their daddies were not bound to this earth.
Jude 1:6-7 (NASB95) And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, just as S***m and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

In Verse 7 we have ‘they’ again, the pronoun is referring to the angels and ‘these’ is referring to the people of S***m and Gomorrah.

The book of Enoch tells us 200 angels left heaven and came to earth descending on Mt Hermon north of present-day Israel.
The book of Genesis says they looked upon the daughters of men and lusted and corrupted all flesh on the earth.
The book of Jude tells us they went after strange flesh just like the S***mites.
Genesis 19:1-5 (NASB95) Now the two angels came to S***m in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of S***m. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. And he said, "Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant's house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way."
They said however, "No, but we shall spend the night in the square." Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of S***m, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them."
Two holy angels came to Lot in S***m, and the men of the city wanted to have in*******se with them – homosexuals. Jude says they went after strange flesh. Are the dots connecting yet?
2 Peter 2:4-6 (NASB95) For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of S***m and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;
What did Peter understand about the angel’s sin?
He connects their sin with Noah.
Jesus says in Matthew 24:37 (NASB95) "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah."
Many people will bring an argument forward that is really no argument at all, quoting Jesus they say: Mark 12:25 (NASB95) "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven."
…but are like angels in heaven.
Jude says…Jude 1:6 (NASB95) And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode…
The angels that came to earth are not in heaven. The angels that came to earth have fallen from God’s eternal grace! They are still at it here on earth and they have a judgment to go!
Here is a snapshot:
Numbers 13:33 (NASB95) "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."
Deuteronomy 3:11 (NASB95) (For only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bedstead was an iron bedstead; it is in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon. Its length was 9 cubits and its width 4 cubits by ordinary cubit.)

1 Chronicles 20:6 (NASB95) Again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot; and he also was descended from the giants.
In his autobiography, The Life of Honorable William F. Cody, Buffalo Bill recounted the following interesting experience that occurred while he was still acting as a scout for the U.S. Army:
"While we were in the sand hills, scouting the Niobrara country, the Pawnee Indians brought into camp some very large bones, one of which the surgeon of the expedition pronounced to be the thigh-bone of a human being. The Indians claimed that the bones they had found were those of a person belonging to a race of people who a long time ago lived in this country; that there was once a race of men on the earth whose size was about three times that of an ordinary man, and they were so swift and powerful that they could run along-side of a buffalo, and, taking the animal in one arm, could tear off a leg and eat the meat as they walked."
Cody continued:
“These giants denied the existence of a Great Spirit, and when they heard the thunder or saw the lightning they laughed at it and said that they were greater than either. This so displeased the Great Spirit that he caused a great rain-storm to come, and the water kept rising higher and higher so that it drove those proud and conceited giants from the low grounds to the hills, and thence to the mountains, but at last even the mountain tops were submerged, and then those mammoth men were all drowned. After the flood had subsided, the Great Spirit came to the conclusion that he had made man too large and powerful, and that he would therefore correct the mistake by creating a race of men of smaller size and less strength. This is the reason, say the Indians, that modern men are small and not like the giants of old, and they claim that this story is a matter of Indian history, which has been handed down among them from time immemorial. And there is far more evidence than I have presented here, well documented around the world.
So, what does that have to do with us humans?
Daniel 2:43 (NASB95) "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.
The THEY in this passage is the same THEY in Genesis 6 and the same THEY recorded in the book of Jude and the same THEY recorded in the book of Enoch.
In the book of Daniel, we have a prophetic dream that extends into our days.
Jesus says when He comes back it will be like the days of Noah.
We have looked at the days of Noah in short and discovered a being the Bible calls the fallen ones – Nephilim, who mated with the daughters of men and produced hybrid offspring that ravaged the earth.
We know after the flood the angels returned for more and now, I will give you a strange passage out of the New Testament for you to discern.
1 Corinthians 11:10 (NASB95) Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
You can read the chapter yourselves for proper context, but why this statement: “because of the angels”?
This is the church age, what does Paul mean? Or did we lose something because of religion since Paul wrote this?
Daniel 2:44-45 (NASB95) "In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy."
In the days of what kings?
Who is the Rock?
What has God revealed to us through this dream?
…what will take place in the future…
Who are the THEY in verse 43?
We can see from scripture in the days to come, a ten-nation alliance will emerge on the planet but not all of that alliance will be human.
We will discuss in a later lesson in more detail this ten-nation alliance as it will reveal itself in scripture.
