Last night we wrapped up our series on Emotional Intelligence! 🧠❤️

EQ WEEK 5 RECAP: Real Love = Emotional Intelligence

“Shifting the Lens + Handling the Heat”

Love that lasts isn’t just about who you vibe with — it’s about how you handle tension, repair connection, and stay soft when it gets hard.

Last night we dove into:

👓 Shifting the Lens
The story you assume in relationships shapes your emotional reality.
Let’s say your roommate walks past you and doesn’t say hi:
➡️ Negative lens: She’s mad at me.
➡️ Positive lens: She’s probably just tired or distracted.

Or your friend didn’t text you back all day:
➡️ Negative lens: They’re ignoring me on purpose.
➡️ Positive lens: They’re probably busy — I’ll check in instead of spiral.

Same moment. Different filter. Totally different outcome.

🔥 Handling the Heat
Conflict doesn’t ruin closeness — emotional immaturity does.
EQ in tension means:
• Choosing softness over sharpness
• Pausing to calm down instead of powering up
• Making a repair attempt — a kind word, a smile, a shoulder touch — anything that says, “I’m still here, and I care.”

Big takeaway?
You’re allowed to be human. But EQ helps you be human with gentleness.

Scriptures we anchored in:
James 1:19, 1 Peter 4:8, Proverbs 15:1, Galatians 6:2

One line to carry with you:
“Real love isn’t just about feeling known. It’s about how you handle being misunderstood.”

EQ Week 4: Empathy in a Self-Focused World
Tonight we talked about what it really means to see people—not just with our eyes, but with the heart of Jesus. 👀❤️

We unpacked the emotional + spiritual maturity it takes to show up for others without losing ourselves in the process.
Empathy isn’t just about being nice—it’s about noticing, staying present, and loving with both compassion and boundaries. 🫶

Jesus didn’t just fix problems—He felt with people. He saw those the world overlooked. And we’re learning to follow Him in that. 🙏

“You don’t have to be the hero. You just have to be faithful.”

Let’s be a generation that leads with empathy, lives with wisdom, and carries the love of Christ into every relationship this week. 💬🔥

Emotional Intelligence - Week 2 Recap:
“Self-Awareness – Knowing Yourself to Grow Yourself”

Tonight we sat in the firelight with Peter 🔥
The moment he denied Jesus.
The moment he realized… he didn’t know himself as well as he thought.

We talked about how emotions we ignore don’t disappear—
they just drive our decisions from beneath the surface.

Self-awareness isn’t about perfection.
It’s about honestly naming what’s happening inside of you
and inviting God to go there 💭✝️

Fight. Flight. Freeze. Fawn.
We unpacked how these show up when we feel unsafe—
and how Jesus meets us in all of them with compassion, not shame ❤️‍🩹

Because you can’t heal what you won’t name.
And you can’t grow where you won’t go 🌱

So this week, the challenge is simple:
✨ Pause.
✨ Pay attention.
✨ Ask God: “What’s under the surface?”

He’s not afraid of what you’ll find there.
He already sees it.
And He’s already moved toward you.

RECAP: WEEK 1 — EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE & FAITH 🎭🙌

“Lead with Heart, Live with Wisdom”

Last week, we kicked off our new series by diving into Emotional Intelligence (EQ)—and how learning to handle emotions like Jesus transforms every part of our lives.

👀 Here’s what we covered in Week 1:
✅ What EQ actually is (It’s more than just “controlling your emotions.”)
✅ How emotions impact your faith, your relationships, and your decisions.
✅ How Jesus modeled perfect emotional intelligence—leading with heart, living with wisdom.
✅ Practical tools to identify, name, and respond to emotions instead of being ruled by them.
✅ And yes… we found out if we’re more like a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean. ☕️🔥

💡 Big takeaway: If we want to grow in our faith and maturity, we have to stop ignoring our emotions—and start learning how to lead with heart and live with wisdom, just like Jesus.

Catch up if you missed it—this one set the foundation for everything coming next.

Join us tonight for Week 2 of our Emotional Intelligence series!

The last two weeks we have talked about:

🔥 Who Are You Becoming? 🔥

🚨 Fast forward 5 years—who do you want to be?
• Spiritually strong?
• More confident in your faith?
• Living with purpose and freedom?

Now ask yourself: If you keep doing exactly what you’re doing today, will you become that person?

💡 Transformation isn’t an overnight change—it’s a process.
• God doesn’t expect perfection—He wants progress.
• Stop striving to “fix” yourself and start letting Him transform you. 🙏

3️⃣ Key Areas That Shape You:

1️⃣ What You Consume 🧠 – Your thoughts are shaped by what you feed your mind and heart. (Proverbs 23:7)
2️⃣ Who You Spend Time With 🤝 – Your closest relationships determine your direction. Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future. (Proverbs 13:20)
3️⃣ Your Daily Habits ⏳ – Small, consistent choices will either pull you toward or away from who God designed you to be. (Galatians 6:9)

🔥 The 1% Rule: Small Changes = Big Transformation
• If you improve by just 1% each day, you’ll be 37x stronger in a year! 💪
• Instead of trying to change everything at once, focus on one small step forward every day.

💭 Reflection Questions:
📌 Are you a thermometer (reacting to the world) or a thermostat (changing the world)?
📌 What’s one thing you can adjust today—your content, your friendships, your habits?
📌 A year from now, will you be glad you started today?

🔥 Take the 7-Day Challenge: Choose one small, repeatable action that will move you closer to who God created you to be. Drop your commitment in the comments! 👇

Stepping Into Defining Moments – Monday Recap

This week, we expanded on what Pastor Joe talked about with defining moments—those times that shape who we are and who we’re becoming. Instead of waiting for these moments to happen to us, we’re called to step into them intentionally.

We explored practical ways to do this:
✨ Seek God’s Guidance – Pray and invite the Holy Spirit to show you what moments He’s calling you to step into this year (Proverbs 16:3).
✨ Set Bold, God-Honoring Goals – Use the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) to set goals that align with God’s purpose for your life.
✨ Be Present and Intentional – Don’t miss the small moments by focusing only on the future. Life’s defining moments often happen in everyday decisions to show kindness, say yes to growth, or be fully present (Luke 10:38-42).
✨ Celebrate Along the Way – Recognize and celebrate small victories. These are signs of God’s faithfulness and a reason for gratitude (Zechariah 4:10).
✨ Step Forward with Faith – Trust God even when the path isn’t clear. Take the next step, knowing He’s with you every step of the way (Joshua 1:9, Romans 8:28).

Challenge for the Week: What’s one defining moment you feel God is calling you to step into this year? How can we support and pray for you?

Let’s live this year with boldness, intentionality, and faith, stepping into all that God has for us. 💛
