MSBDR is moving to ALERT STATUS in anticipation of deployment in response to developing Tropical Storm Isaias.

At this time, we are anticipating the need for MSBDR services. Volunteers may be needed for incident management/admin, assessment, chaplain, chainsaw, flood recovery, shower/laundry, and feeding depending on the needs that are generated by the storm landfall.

Volunteers and teams should check their availability and make preparation for deployment should the need arise.

Current National Hurricane Center forecast are calling for the landfall of potential Hurricane Isaias Friday night/Saturday morning along the northern Gulf of America. High winds, downed trees and powerlines, flash flooding, urban flooding, and tornadoes will be possible with this system. There are a number of factors that will affect the strength, track, and timing of this storm.

MSBDR volunteers living in Coastal MS, Southeast MS, and east of the I-59 Corridor should complete personal preparation activities prior to Friday as conditions are expected to deteriorate on Friday.
