Today we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This special day honors Mary's birth, marking the beginning of God's salvation plan. While her birth isn't detailed in the Bible, tradition tells us she was born to Saints Joachim and Anne. Mary's birth brings joy to humanity, as she was chosen to be the Mother of God. This feast also highlights God's providential preparation for the Incarnation and falls exactly nine months after the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on December 8.

Saint of the Day: Blessed Thomas Tzugi, S.J. (c. 1570–1627) was a Japanese Jesuit priest and martyr who remained steadfast in his faith during the severe persecution of Christians in Japan. Born near Nagasaki, he became a gifted preacher and devoted missionary. After missionaries were expelled from Japan, he courageously returned in secret to continue ministering to the faithful. He was eventually captured and, refusing to renounce his faith, was burned at the stake in Nagasaki in 1627. Beatified by Pope Pius IX in 1867, Blessed Thomas is remembered for his courage, perseverance, and unwavering fidelity to Christ.
