St. Irene Philoptochos Chapter of St. John the Baptist GOC

The St. Irene Philoptochos, with the wonderful support of the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church parishioners collected warm blankets and cozy socks to deliver to the Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth. Each month, on the first Wednesday, volunteers make 120 peanut butter and jelly sanchiches and pack 120 sack lunches. Each Sack Lunch includes a pb and jelly sandwich, chips, fruit cup, dessert and a water bottle and a hand written note from the parishioners or Sunday School students.

St. Irene Philoptochos and St. John's parishioners have been preparing these Sack Lunches each month since 2015. We went over the 15,000 mark for sack lunches this past week! Started in 2015 - present.

Happy Father's Day! The St Irene Philoptochos chapter in Euless, TX, at St.John the Baptist GOC sponsored a beautiful service today honoring our fathers and remembering those fathers who have fallen asleep.
Thank you to Father Vasile for saying all the blessings and prayers.
Elizabeth Strong made the 5 beautiful loaves, the Artoklasia. I was blessed to be able to make the Koliva. Here are a couple of short videos .

The St. Irene Philoptochos ladies awarded their annual scholarship. Each year graduating seniors from St.. John the Baptist GOC apply for this scholarship. Thanks to Harriet Blake and Gail Poriotis for taking applications and working with an anonymous committee, not affiliated with St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, or St. Irene Philoptochos. May this year's recipient have a blessed college career!

Woohoo ---2022!

Festival of Tables!
On April 30, 2022 the St. Irene Philoptochos chapter in Euless, TX hosted another fabulous Festival of Tables. This event is a fundraiser that benefits the St. Irene Philoptochos Scholarship. Thanks to all the guests and gracious hostesses, we raised nearly $5,000.
