Worth reposting - a reminder to myself . . . Give no foothold to evil!!!

As I sit in silence with the Father, it is evident, the devil has duped the world. We think because we are not criminals, "bad" in a world view, or physically hurting others, that we are okay; that we can forego Bible, prayer, godly fellowship, and worship.
The reality is, in God's view, no matter how minute, just a hair south of holiness , we are considered sinners, and in great need of Him.
Yes, even my "eye roll" at that person that annoys me - is a product of an evil heart!
2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us that we are to "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Taking your thoughts captive simply means gaining control over what you think about yourself and life.

One bad apple DOES spoil the whole bunch!

Spiritual food for thought.

I recently had a conversation with someone, and have reflected upon their words.
"I don't have to confess to God that I am a sinner - God already knows that I am a sinner."

Confession of sins(s) is not to "inform God." Nor is it for forgiveness, for we as Christians have already been forgiven through faith in Christ Jesus.

Confession of sin(s) is to acknowledge your sin before God, not for His sake, but for your own. Acknowledgement of sin is coming into agreement with Him; an open apology to the Father for a known disobedience that is already been forgiven.

Confession allows LIGHT upon the sin so that WE see more clearly and hold ourselves accountable. Confession is not to make God aware, but rather to humble ourselves before Him and accept His Grace. I venture to say, PRIDE may well be the greatest deterrent to confession.

Without Christ is to be without the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit is to experience condemnation.

With Christ is to be with the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Sprit, is to experience conviction. Conviction leads to confession. Confession (light) begets repentance. Repentance brings freedom. Freedom allows peace. Peace fills us with Joy.

Let me first say, I am so grateful that God is blessing me with boldness to share and speak, and also, (evidently) a light that leads others to question me. I am but a saved sinner pursuing Christ and
Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[1] "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,"

Someone once asked me "How do you know when God (The Holy Spirit) speaks to you?"

My answer is varied, by my experiences, and the words He provides.
1) sometimes a voice so small, like a soft breeze whispering through the trees
2) sometimes an audible voice, like an earthly father standing beside me, guiding my heart and thoughts, answering a concern or direct question
3) sometimes a sign such a sunrise/sunset, lightening/rain/thunder, or something in nature - reminding me He is in control of everything
4) sometimes a feeling, of being held, His comforting hugs to calm the fears/storms in His child, or to simply let me know I am His.
5) through Bible reading and prayer, daily giving me understanding and wisdom of what was, what is, and what's to come.
6) by the Joy in my heart and soul, regardless of the situations, bad or good
He speaks in so many ways!

Another question then arises; "How do you know it is the Spirit of God speaking?"
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:3 ‭NIV‬‬
[1] "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
[2] This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
[3] but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

Beware of ANYTHING that does not align with scripture.

Which leads to a final question. "How do you know if it is scriptural or not?"

Truth! Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, and For All Eternity!

Psalm 2
1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3 β€œLet us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6 β€œI have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, β€œYou are my son; today I have become your father.
8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

What does Mark 13:32 mean?
Part 3

It's reasonable to think "that day or that hour" refers to Jesus' second coming, since that is specifically what the four disciples asked (Matthew 24:3). Three and a half years before the abomination of desolation, the Antichrist will make a treaty with Israel and its enemies (Daniel 9:24–27). Given that the sequence of these events is already established, some interpret the "day" to mean the Day of the Lord. If so, the "Day of the Lord" is the time period in which God's will for mankind is fulfilled, His judgment is poured out (Isaiah 13:6–22; Ezekiel 30:2–19), all Israel is saved (Romans 11:26), and God's glory is revealed (Isaiah 2:17).

Another possibility is that Jesus knew when the tribulation would start, and therefore the year of His return, but literally did not know the day or hour.

The important take-away of this verse is that Jesus specifically says the timing is not for us to know (Acts 1:6–7). That should serve as a warning for the rest of us. Anyone who claims to know the date or time of Jesus' return is, by definition, a false teacher. They are claiming to convince others they know what Jesus says cannot be known.

What does Mark 13:32 mean?
Part 2

Does Jesus know when He will return now that He lives in heaven with a glorified body? Acts 1:6–7 allows for that. After the resurrection, when Jesus is in His glorified body, moments before He ascends to heaven, the disciples ask again when He will return and "restore the kingdom to Israel." He responds that it is not for them to know the timing, but He doesn't indicate that He is still ignorant of God's plan.

Some think Mark 13:32 refers to the rapture. The rapture is the coming day when Jesus will call all believers, living and dead, and meet them in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; 1 Corinthians 15:50–54). This interpretation seems less consistent with Scripture, however. First, the rapture is imminent: that means nothing else needs to happen, including the wars and natural disasters of Mark 13:6–8. In the rapture, Jesus doesn't truly "return" to earth but hovers in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17); during His second coming, He will set foot on earth again (Zechariah 14:4). Finally, the rapture will happen in an instant, secretly (1 Corinthians 15:50–54), while Jesus' second coming will be seen around the world (Revelation 1:7).

What does Mark 13:32 mean?
Part 1

The nature of the Trinity is a puzzle which theologians have struggled with for centuries. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are members of the Trinity. They are all God, They are all One, but They are not each other. This is illustrated in the ways in which Jesus interacts with God the Father while He is on earth. He submits His own will to God the Father (Mark 14:36). He is separated from God on the cross (Mark 15:34)

Stephen sees Jesus standing at God's right hand (Acts 7:55). Jesus even learned obedience as a man (Hebrews 5:8).

This verse gives another example. While in His physical body on earth, Jesus is not omniscient. Paul explains that Jesus, "who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:6–7). Part of being emptied means Jesus abdicated His rights to manifest the full nature of deity, what theologians call the kenosis. That doesn't mean that Jesus was ever not-God. It's more like part of His deity was in sleep mode. He knew what God intended Him to know (John 15:15).

But Lot's wife, from behind him, [foolishly, longingly] looked [back toward S***m in an act of disobedience], and she became a pillar of salt.
