Several other opportunities to build and grow spiritually and in friendships throughout the week "Why the rooster?"- Throughout history the church has included the rooster in its architecture and art as a symbol of proclaimed grace and hope. We have taken it up as a reminder of Peter’s denial of and subsequent gracious restoration by Jesus. We believe that all who follow Jesus, like Peter, are wit

nesses in spite of our own personal failings, because Jesus loves and is merciful to us. The rooster has also been used as a symbol of hope in the darkness--a herald of the dawn. We believe that the resurrection of Jesus secures hope that, though there is darkness all around and inside us, dawn is coming. We, like the rooster, but more importantly like failing-restored Peter, are hopeful heralds of the dawning healing of all our aches and sorrows in Jesus.

Hellllo City Church Eugeners...A great day of worship with the added blessing of communion, offered by Dr. Alan Carter. After church, the session met with Carter for several hours in a mini-retreat. Much wisdom was shared by him as we discussed vision for CCE. To God be the glory!

On 3/12/22 Oregon's Mask Mandate will be lifted. City Church will not be requiring those attending to wear masks.

We do ask that as we make decisions regarding mask, we seek to do so in ways that show love and respect to one another and not allow masks to become an issue that divides us.

Our Story

"Why the rooster?"- Throughout history the church has included the rooster in its architecture and art as a symbol of proclaimed grace and hope. We have taken it up as a reminder of Peter’s denial of and subsequent gracious restoration by Jesus. We believe that all who follow Jesus, like Peter, are witnesses in spite of our own personal failings, because Jesus loves and is merciful to us. "Why the HiFi?"-We purposefully chose the HiFi for a couple of reasons. One, we share their desire to create a space for our community to come together in celebration of art, music and life. And two, as we seek to love God, people, and Eugene we believe it is vital to build relationships within our shared community, in its very heart, for the benefit of our city. Hence, we wanted to move not simply to a place downtown but to a "downtown place." Splitting hairs? Maybe. But we believe the distinction is an essential one. Won't you join us?
