Good Friday service in conjunction with North Park Community Church will be at 6pm tonight. Holy Week and Good Friday encourages us to not look away from the pain and brokenness; rather, to stay a little while and fully embrace the necessity of the pain that would eventually usher in freedom that resulted from the ultimate sacrifice. ✝️🤍

There's a light dusting of snow around town at the moment. I just went for a drive and the roads are pretty easy to navigate and the snow is melting in the church parking lot. We are planning to go ahead with our normal service this morning at 9am at North Park. Please use caution as roads may be a bit slick. Hope to see you shortly.

We believe that following Jesus isn't just contained by what happens on Sunday, our lives should regularly overlap with others in our community. Our primary way of doing that outside of Sundays is by sharing meals together with all sorts of different people. If you'd like to get a sense of what All Things New is about, you're invited to dinner. Simply pick the night or location that works for you, contact the host, and they'll give you the details.

"I am making all things new." (Revelation 21:5)

This is where the Biblical story is headed.

It is equal parts invitation and promise, from the Creator who longs to bring all people and all of creation into whole, healthy and right relationship with Him.

From the beginning of creation the plan to make relationships right has been through humans.

This is both made possible and modeled by Jesus,
whose life, death and resurrection launched a movement called The Way, better known today as the church, in which this way of life, hope and reconciliation gets worked out on a daily basis in our busy, messy, and often disconnected lives.

This community is about working out the mess, connecting the disconnected, and rearranging our lives to combat the busyness...all in light of Jesus.

Welcome to the journey.

Welcome to All Things New.

This is one of the places where our church meets. It is also my back yard. Each week this summer we are meeting at different homes to share a meal because we believe that important things happen when we eat together. These meals make room for our friends and neighbors and have no agenda except food and relationships. If you'd like to join the fun, DM us we'll let you know when and where this week's dinner is.

This morning at church we spent some time praying for the conflict in Ukraine and Russia. I shared an excerpt from an article and thought it might be helpful if I shared the whole thing. Here it is if you are inclined to read it (and continue to pray.)

While the church may not fight like the nation, we still believe we have a role to play in this struggle.

Last night, a question came up about the Advent candles and how that tradition came about. It was a great question! It's important that we can distinguish what we draw from God's Word vs. human tradition that helps us focus on those truths. Here's a simple article that explains Advent and also points to some great resources you can use with your own family. We have Ann Voskamp's "The Greatest Gift: Unwrapping the Full Love Story of Christmas" and it is quite good and a really beautiful book.
Always feel free to ask questions when you aren't sure about something!

Sure, you know of Christmas and Easter, but what about Advent?
