Our prayers for safety and health are with everyone effected by the fires and smoke spreading across the West coast, including our CDA members and their families who have had to evacuate. We pray for the firefighters, as well as all those working to support those displaced and adversely affected.

We pray for a strong call by all, including voters in this upcoming election and governments around the world to prioritize and fight for efforts which combat climate change. Climate change is currently and will continue to affect our planet, unless we take actions now.

Pope Francis has been vocal regarding this call to action by all as he says...
"The protection of the home given to us by the Creator cannot be neglected," "Young people are telling us that this cannot be the case, for at every level we are being urgently challenged to protect our common home."
The younger generation, said the pontiff, "reminds us of the urgent need for an ecological conversion."

Together and with faith, we will get through this stressful and changing time. We are thankful and encourage each other to continue to pray and care for those affected by recent events.

The Daughters of the Americas Campus Court Saint Rose of Lima # 2716 support the Black Lives Matter Movement and stand in solidarity with all of our Black brothers and sisters.

Update: We recognize that Angela Davis does not hold all the same beliefs as the Catholic Church, but we support her activism against racial injustice and agree with her quote. In addition, on behalf of the Church, the Pope has echoed that “We must overcome all forms of racism, of intolerance and of the instrumentalization of the human person.” Thank you all for your interest and care for this matter!
