Hello EBF family,

I (Chris) wanted to make an official post. We just had our first Sunday together as UFC and I was blown away. The number of people, the hospitality shown by those of you who provided food and spaces for us. It was a very special Sunday.

Regarding communications moving forward, you can expect to connect a few different ways.

1. Our Facebook and Facebook Community page.
https://www.facebook.com/universityfellowship
https://www.facebook.com/groups/ufccommunitygroup

2. Weekly Emails from Brett
https://www.university-fellowship.com/pastor-bretts-email

There's a lot to communicate, probably too much for a single Facebook post. But, I wanted to touch base so everyone knew where they could start. This page will remain up but no future communications will land here. Thank you again for joining together with us, we can't wait to see what God has in store.

If anyone has any questions about communication you're welcome to reach out to me at [email protected].

Love God. Love Your Neighbor. Make Disciples.

Greetings EBF Family!

We wanted to remind you that on this Sunday, May 22, we'll be worshiping together and recalling what the Lord has done in and through EBF over the last 50 years since the church began. This will be a family worship time so the children will be joining us in the service. Childcare will be available for children 5 yrs and younger. We'll also be hosting a lunch immediately after the service that is available and free to all. We hope you can join us for this special service and lunch.

This Sunday Brett Gilchrist will be preaching. Plan to be there in the morning service to meet and be taught by our new pastor.

Then, Sunday evening at 6pm in the Sanctuary, UFC is catering dinner for us to get to know the staff and ministry leaders. Childcare will be provided. This is a great opportunity to interact with our new church leadership. We hope you are able to attend. In order to have a good head count, we need everyone to have signed up no later than tomorrow (Thursday). If you haven't signed up yet, please email the church office ([email protected]) to let us know how many in your family will be there.

We all deal with stuff in life: Fear, doubt, disillusionment, hurt and the list goes on. In those days following Jesus' crucifixion, His disciples dealt with the same stuff. This Sunday we're starting a new sermon series called "Overwhelmed: Dealing with life's stuff." We're going to look at how Jesus ministered to them (and how He ministers to us) in the midst of life's stuff to help them (us) find forgiveness and hope. We hope you'll join us and bring someone you know that has some stuff in life.

Don't forget about our Maundy Thursday service tonight at 7pm. We'll sing songs, read Scripture, and take the Lord's Supper to celebrate Jesus' last night with the disciples before the crucifixion.

We hope to see you there and bring a friend that needs to hear the good news.

Hey EBF family--Easter is coming! Sunday there was a printed invitation with the bulletin for our Easter service. Here is the electronic version so you can easily share it. We're encouraging everyone to pray for someone (or multiple someones) who don't attend church and then invite them to join us as we speak to the skeptic about the resurrection, how they can believe it really happened, and why it matters. It's going to be a great day of worship. I hope to see you there--and that someone you're inviting.

"I myself will search for my sheep and look after them." (The Lord in Ezekiel 34:11)

"In some causes silence is dangerous." - Ambrose of Milan

"Open your mouth on behalf of those unable to speak, for the rights of all the sons of the vanishing.
Open your mouth, and judge rightly, and plead the cause of the afflicted and vulnerable. " - Proverbs 31:8-9

Though something of Christ be revealed in one age, and something more in another, yet eternity itself cannot fully reveal Him.

"I see something," said Luther, "which blessed Augustine did not see; and those that come after me will see that which I do not see."

Studying Christ is like discovering a new country. At first, men sit down by the seaside, upon the borders of the land. And there they dwell, but then they eventually search farther and farther into the heart of the country.

The best of us are still only upon the borders of this vast continent!
-John Flavel

It is a better thing to save souls for the Lord than to save treasures. He who sent forth his apostles without gold had not need of gold to form his Church. The Church possesses gold, not to hoard, but to scatter abroad and come to the aid of the unfortunate.
