I never thought in a million years that God would call me to minister to the elderly. I have ministered to children, women, and men, and now God has entrusted me to minister to the elderly. It is such an honor to see them faithfully waiting for me to come, but what blesses me even more is when they say, Apostle Ivy, I’ve been having Bible study. I’ve been on fire for God! There is a real need for ministry in senior homes and assisted-living facilities. Many of our elderly are waiting on someone to bring them the Word, encourage them, and remind them that they still have purpose. In Acts 6, the church recognized that widows were being overlooked and took action. We cannot overlook this generation.
One thing I told them is that they should never wait for somebody to come preach to them when they are full of the Word. When you are full of the Word, you can seek God for yourself, study for yourself, pray for yourself, and keep your own fire burning. Their age does not make their gift old, and their calling is not dead

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age. Psalm 92:14

I think we often fail to consider the pain and endurance of an individual who chooses sacrifice. Sometimes, loneliness is not chosen because a person doesn’t want people; it’s chosen because they know that stepping out of that loneliness may require them to return to something they genuinely don’t want to do just to be able to communicate with others. There is a different kind of pain in knowing that your way of communicating may leave people in a place where they don’t know how to communicate back. So you endure the loneliness, not because you don’t care, but because you refuse to keep compromising just to feel understood. Sometimes the sacrifice is not about walking away from people. Sometimes it is about choosing to remain alone rather than becoming someone you no longer recognize just to have someone beside you.
And I tell there is a cry in that choice, a cry that often goes unheard.

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Matthew 19:29

Whenever you’re trying to change something, grow, or do something better, it’s not always going to be easy. Sometimes you’re going to feel uncomfortable. Sometimes you’re going to question yourself. Sometimes you’ll want to go back to what’s familiar simply because it’s easier. But don’t mistake hard for wrong.
Growth is uncomfortable. Change takes work. Becoming better requires you to do things differently than you’ve always done them.
Just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean you should stop. Keep going. The struggle may be part of the process of becoming who you’re trying to become.

Father,
I thank You for the door You opened for me to work with children. It’s evidence that it was all You. Father, You placed me in the school to help them with their education, and it’s needed and necessary. But there’s a deeper cry. There’s a deeper burden for what can’t be released because I don’t have the right platform. Father, I’m asking You to connect me with the right people who can put me in unexpected places and on unexpected platforms where they can hear Your voice through me. You said that my gift would make room for me. Father, make room for the gift You placed in me. Don’t let what You placed in me die. Surround me with the children who don’t know You, the ones dealing with rejection, fear, insecurities, and who need emotional healing. Father, don’t just surround me with them, give me the platform to teach them life skills, self-care, healthy relationships, healthy boundaries, and how to endure. Put me in places where there are no limitations, no bo***ge, only freedom to express prophecy, revelation, wisdom, healing, and deliverance. Open the doors that no man can shut. Do it in such a way that I know it was You. Father, I thank You for every dream. I thank You for every vision You’ve given me concerning the children. Today I speak that prophecy forward in the name of Jesus, for the time is now. I thank You for every connection. I thank You for every platform. I thank You that my light will shine in the darkest places. Father, enlarge my territory. Order my steps. If these platforms and these connections require me to leave Alabama, then let Your will be done. Wherever You send me, I’ll go.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Life is unpredictable. It rises and falls, shifting without warning, and most days you don’t really know what to expect. But one thing I do know is this, when you are anchored in God, there is a peace that settles even in the middle of life’s storms. The kind of peace that doesn’t make sense, the kind that holds you together when everything around you feels like it’s falling apart. Truth is, many of us would have lost our minds or had a mental breakdown if it had not been for God. His presence steadies us. His Word guides us. The Bible is more than just a book,it is a lifeline, teaching us how to endure, how to cope, and how to keep moving forward when life gets heavy.
God never promised this journey would be easy, but He did promise that He would be with us. And no matter how much life changes, no matter how uncertain things become, Jesus remains the same. Faithful. Constant. Dependable. Always.
