Clarion Call To Prayer
“…to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of the Lord… Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ”.
As it goes without saying, the world in which we live is overwhelmed with blood-shed and senseless attacks of cruelty across the entire globe. Fatality and calamity inundate the very length and breadth of this nation; spanning every ethnic group and shattering the lively-hood of citizens both young and old.
The very heart of man grows colder by the day, without any decent regards to human-kind and the breath of life we hold so precious. How disheartening to hear the agonizing cry of families victimized through such meaningless acts of corrupt violence. These bewailing moments of adversity trouble our very existence, all the while striving to maintain a steadfast hope and peace in God.
I certainly wish to express the utmost compassion and sincere condolences to all who lament the loss of loved ones everywhere. Not only to those families in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, but even among troubled neighborhoods and life-long communities who witness violent crimes and acts of lawless misconduct - regardless of race, color or reputable background.
May the God of all comfort strengthen those who mourn and may they find peace and justice in these turbulent times.
2nd Chronicles 7:14 emphatically reminds us:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.”
As a clarion call to action, we petition heaven’s intervention through fervent prayer. As a body of Christ, we MUST maintain a spiritual posture of unified prayer and seek God’s will for divine direction.
The Call to Prayer for International Bible Way:
➢ Pray for those who have been victimized through hate crimes and the families tragically torn asunder through these violent acts. Pray that the Lord our God will heal the broken-hearted, bind up every wound and set the captive free.
➢ Join hands and hearts with those you love prior to leaving home for daily activities.
➢ Involve the youth of your home and designate a moment of unified prayer before leaving for school.
➢ Pray that God will cover your home and surroundings and be sure to establish church-wide prayer for your local communities, schools and businesses.
This is the Apostle’s Clarion Call to Prayer and in the words of the old familiar song, ”Jesus is the answer for the world today. Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way”.
There is definitely an anchor for the soul, and that anchor is only found in our Savior and soon coming King.
Humbly Submitted,
Apostle Willie E. Rookard
