Hi! I'm Maddie!
I'm originally from Nebraska but I've been in Colorado for 13 years nowโฆsoโฆ I claim both.
I used to work at AH as full time staff a couple years ago and came back as a missionary in May of 25'. Which means I was apart of staff who helped clarify the AH mission statement. Out of honesty, at the time I second guessed if this specific mission was for me because I felt I wasn't ready to live out the AH mission. It took me awhile to realize that as a broken person, I will never be perfectly ready to be a missionary if I keep seeing mission through an idealistic lens. It also took awhile for it to sink in that it was truly transformational encounters with God, through the vessel of the kind hearts of others, that had lead me to become the woman I am today. Both of these gave me simple clarity in discernment; that even though I am a sinner, I do love Jesus, He will shepard me as a missionary, and that He has given me a gift of accompaniment. So, why not just go for it?
I am looking forward to loving the missionaries, staff and guests that come up here. I hope this year we continue as a community to go deep into the heart with Jesus, guests, and with each other. I also hope we continue to go shallow into the funny bone because we missionaries are silly goofy and laugh everyday with each other.
I have a deep love for the entire Passion Narrative but in particular, the Agony in the Garden. I also love food, so it brings me a smile when Jesus says โCome and eat breakfastโ after His Ressurection.
My favorite blessed is Sr. Maria Bolognesi. Look her up!
