Did you get your Cornish Cross order yet? If not, we can help!

We raise them for our family and friends, but maybe you are interested in doing the same?!

Shawn and I have Cornish Cross chicks (straight run) coming in TWO separate shipments in April and May.

Cornish Cross chickens are a meat chicken — (not to be confused with a Cornish hen)! They are ready to process at 8 weeks old and their average weight is between 4-6 pounds. We have been raising our own chickens for our family for about three years and we love it! The quality is so much better than what you can get in the store. Also, we know where our chicken comes from and what they are being fed.

If you want to raise a few on your own, we can help you in two ways!

1: You can pick them up on their day of delivery at $5.50 a chick (around April 18th / May 17th).

2: We can brood them for you (!) and you can pick them up when they are ready to be raised outside on the grass at $10.00 a chick (around May 3rd / May 31st)

We are getting ready to order our Cornish X meat chickens for the 2024 summer. This year we will be taking orders for anyone who wants farm fresh, non-vaccinated, pasture raised chickens. 🐓🐓🐓

We will be raising Cornish X chickens in 1 batch this summer.

We only have a total of 45 chickens available to order for this years Cornish Cross.

Chickens will be processed and ready for pickup around June 22nd.

We require an initial deposit of $5.50 a chicken. Every order we make for chicks is a commitment to feed and care for them until they are of age to process. A deposit will communicate your commitment and help with the upfront costs of ordering and caring for the chicks.

Chickens will need tobe picked up on the processing date and at this time final payment can be made.

The chickens are $5.50 per pound - minus your deposit for the first pound (price includes complimentary chicken processing and packaging). (They typically are between 4.5 5.5lbs — but they can be slightly larger or slightly smaller).

***Special offer/ Free Training: At the end of each rotation we will have a scheduled Harvest Day (the day we process and package the chickens you purchased). If you wish to participate not only will you have the opportunity to learn how to raise and process your own meat chickens, but you will also have a discounted rate of $5.00 a lb.

Orders are first come-first serve basis.

All Orders need to be in made by March 1st.

Our turkeys have grown out of their “toddler-sized” bed (or the chicken tractor) and now ready for a “king-sized” turkey tractor!

Inspired by a Poly-Face Farm turkey tractor, Shawn drew up plans for a turkey tractor that is smaller (than the Poly-Face plans) and better suited for our homestead.

It’s been awhile since we have posted updates, but with the summer season comes more responsibility.

Our faith, our family/community, and our homestead - they take priority. Just as our beautiful tomato plants seemed to have doubled in size overnight, so it seems our summer homestead and family responsibilities have grown.

We will post updates as we can. Last summer we posted pictures and updates regularly, however, this summer we have put the phone down and we are enjoying the fruits of our labor: our children and our growing homestead.

I pray this summer the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ over you. I pray that you make the time pause to “take in” and reflect on all the gifts of His goodness and rest in His presence. I pray that the work of your hands be blessed and your homes blessed with the abundance that is available to us through Jesus.

The incubator decided to stop its countdown this time around. So we didn’t have an exact day that the quail would hatch. I have been watching and listening closely the past few days, waiting to see or hear the signs of life.

Then this morning, I heard the chirping. From within the egg, little sounds of life! What a miracle and a gift new life is!

When I heard the sounds I began to rejoice!
After days of waiting (and at some points becoming anxious that we may not have any hatch since it seemed delayed and we couldn’t be sure of the timing), imagine the joy it was to hear the early signs of life!

Let our lives worship the one True King, Jesus!
Let our mouths be filled with testimonies of our love for him! HIS LIFE WITHIN US is our saving grace.

Let heaven hear the “chirping” of the life that has been given to us through the blood and cross of Jesus! Let heaven and earth hear our praises! Our King Jesus Reigns forever and ever! Amen!

🎉🎉 We have babies! They hatched yesterday!

We are selling this batch.
Buff Orpington: straight run: $5.00 a chick.
Pick up.

Their parent chickens are healthy and great with our kids. They are a more docile breed. They are a great breed for both eggs and meat.

We have 19 available.
