Our motto: "Honoring God with excellence and fun in the world of music." All who join are trained in music theory and are introduced to the world of music. About the music director: G. Paul "Greg" Naeger [www.gpaulnaeger.com] founded the North Shore Ringers in 2007 as an opportunity to introduce children and young adults to the world of music. He was introduced to the world of handbells while a
member of the San Francisco Boys' Chorus. With the Boys' Chorus, Greg made numerous appearances around the San Francisco Bay Area and went on three international tours. His experiences with the San Francisco Boys' Chorus serve as his biggest influence and inspiration over his vision for the North Shore Ringers. Some frequently asked questions:
What is the cost of joining? There is no charge. Are there extra rehearsals? There may and probably will be extra rehearsals called in final preparation for special appearances. Where and how often do we perform? On average, we make about 8-10 appearances a year. We have performed in venues across Northeastern Massachusetts. In addition to the aforementioned appearances, we have participated in worship in church services (we are founded as a Christian ministry first), we have performed in assisted living facilities amongst other venues. A highlight for the ringers is our annual appearance at the Topsfield Fair. We do an approximate 1-hour concert in Coolidge Hall on the opening Saturday of the fair (this year, it was October 5, 2013). Are we a youth group? While we are a group that is devoted to our youth, we are a youth music ministry and not a youth group. A certain level of commitment must be requested by the director for the simple reason that it is nearly impossible to have a full choir if all ringers are not present to ring. There is nobody available to ring an absent ringer's bells. Who are we looking for to join the North Shore Ringers? Our membership is open to all kids and young adults for grades 1 through high school.
